Good food. Gluten-free menu. Staff not well trained but I know what to order now.
The manager was extremely accommodating and knowledgeable. He personally made our food including opening a new bag of chips for my kids' nachos. So thankful for him and his staff!
I love eating here. Just be careful when ordering a sandwich if you are a celiac or have a severe allergy because they do not have a designated toaster. I always tell them not to toast my bread and stress to them how sick I get, but sometimes it still comes out toasted or cross contaminated. So, just be careful! otherwise, it's one of my favorite places to eat.
Salad came with crackers (wrapped, but come on, I talked to them all about changing gloves, etc) and I felt like I'd been cross contaminated.
My daughter ordered a sandwhich with gluten free bread per the gluten free menu. When the cooks saw the order they said they don't have gf bread. We showed them the menu. They made an excuse as to why they don't have it. The cook came out and suggested my daughter get wheat bread or cibatta. We explained she has Celiacs and is allergic to gluten, he said, "I don't know what that is!" Frustrated, my daughter ordered something else and they charged us for the additional item. Never once apologized. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Terrible- asked about GF staff has no idea just that they had GF bread. They asked the manager who sent someone out with we can do a Salad no croutons and no dressing. We have been to others that have the menu. This place couldn't have cared. We left. Wish I could leave no stars!!
Staff did not know what gluten was. Plus the manager would not come and see us when requested.
Salads and dressing were mostly all GF. I ordered the Savannah Salad which was listed in the GF menu - it came with blue cheese crumbles which are not technically GF (the blue is wheat mold, or so I've read). I've never had problems with blue cheese tho. The chili and most of the stuffed potatoes were GF. They didn't have a GF bread or offer lettuce wraps for the sandwiches. So it's just salad, chili or stuffed potatoes. They did have a GF menu, but didn't realize that they did. It was stuffed in with the nutritional info book that they handed me.
I went because of reviews on here from others-- thanks! The girl behind the counter was familiar with the term gluten-free. She brought out their 'allergy book'. They had prepared notes on which menu item was gluten-free. I took a chance and got the 'Savannah salad'. It was delicious. The restaurant is pleasant.
Food was good, but the employee who helped me was definitely not helpful with answering questions or pretending to be nice
Previous person made comment about stained menu. may have been but not now. mployees Checked when I had a question. food is Amazing. In fact I am trying to buy a loaf of the GF bread, I had the 1/2 Orange Cranberry Club with 1/2 Cheese spud and it was Yummy.Service is great.
the gluten free bread is really good they have a lot of gluten items on the menu, I eat here all the time is a great place, very clean , great staff and if you tell them how severe your gluten allergy is they go above and beyond to make sure they have change there gloves and more. I fully recommend this deli for everyone , Oh did I mention how great the tea is.
Great gluten free soup and sandwich options!
The staff here is always so kind and friendly. Unfortunately, some of them don't realize that bread isn't the only thing you have to worry about. I didn't feel great after eating a grilled chicken sandwich, and I'm scared of the gravy. I haven't tried it and I'm not sure anyone can convince me it's safe.
I asked for the gluten free menu and the manager looked at me like I was speaking a different language. I asked if she knew what was gluten free and she handed me a nutritional sheet that I could barely decipher. I ended up getting a baked potato with my fingers crossed. I won't be back. very disappointing for this to be on the find me gluten free app when they clearly do not participate.
They claim to have a dedicated kitchen area to GF, but while ordering, I was asked if I needed them to change gloves. SERIOUSLY?? If that's not an automatic, you might as well not offer GF options! I was ok that time, the next visit (take out order) had me close to the bathroom (sick from cross contamination). Not worth the risk, IMO.
the Greenville, NC location doesn't have a specific gluten free menu, but I got the Spud Ole and was okay. just ask if anything has any form ingredients (ask fire a nutritional menu or check online).
I have eaten here several times and have never had a problem. Be sure to ask for their GF menu. It lists all of the allergens. BTW I am very sensitive to gluten so cross contamination is an issue for me which I have never had a problem. 😄
LOVE this place! Can get any sandwich on gluten free bread. And the sweet tea is wonderful My only complaint is that the grilled sandwiches aren't quite grilled long enough. But regardless, I eat here fairly regularly when I need a sandwich fix.
Great place for gf that I found from this app. We tried it and it was excellent. Many sandwich options that you can get on gf bread which was very good. Overall great gf lunch with no bad side effects.
Decent variety of options including a GF bread to sub on sandwiches. GF menu posted at register.
They have some great options, like the savannah chicken salad.
Added gluten free bread a couple of months ago : ) Great selection, good service, nice portion sizes and consistently delicious! We eat here at least twice a month and never had a reaction!
We had a good experience here. We asked about the gluten free menu, and the manager went and got it for us right away. They didn't have any gf bread that day, but I had nachos and hubby had a baked potato with cheese and bacon. The manager made our food himself, and let us know that he had changed his gloves. We didn't get sick, and we would eat here again. It's not gourmet, but we felt safe.
