A little pricey but worth it!
Good pizza but a gluten free pizza with sausage, pepperoni, sundries tomato and red Peppers will cost you over $20!
Both my children loved their GF pizza. The non-GF pizza was excellent as well. We will probably be back later this week! Very child friendly.
Yummy gf pizza! And it was a good size pizza..12". I had the Kosmic Karma pizza and it was delicious!
My teenage daughter is Celiac and did not have a reaction from consuming a GF pepperoni pizza both in HH and Savannah. She loved the pizza. This chain makes good pizza and salads.
WATCH OUT I was served a beer that was not gluten free. The waitress said that she was told that it was gluten free. Had I not known about this particular beer, I would have become very ill. They have Estrella Damm which is a spanish beer that does have a gluten free version called Daura, but you have to be very careful because the non gluten free bottles look very similar to the gluten free bottles. The Daura bottle does have Gluten Free on it. WATCH OUT!!!!
Great pizza, dependably GF. They claim to have dedicated utensils and change their aprons. One pizza feeds two of us easily. No GF desserts.
Fabulous experience with gluten allergy. Knowledgeable staff and really good pizza!
Every time I come down here I go to Mellow Mushroom. The GF crust is one of the first I've had from a restaurant that doesn't taste like cardboard! Good stuff!
I have eaten the gluten free pizza multiple times and have never had a problem. The best gluten free pizza I've ever eaten.
Good pizza options with yummy GF crust! All pizzas are expensive there.
The waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable about what needed to be done for my son who has Celiac. The kitchen staff did an excellent job preparing for limited cross contamination and the 12" pepperoni pizza was $12.99 which seems very reasonable compared to other GF items we purchase.
Excellent gluten and dairy free pizza! The staff was all very knowledgeable and the menu even describes how they bake the crust in a separate area of the kitchen! I am very sensitive and had absolutely now problems here. Very impressed and will be sure to stop by another one whenever I get the chance!
the gluten free pizza crust is very thin, so mine was soggy. could just be the vegetarian pizza though. it tasted decently but it was SO pricey! 22 dollars for a 12" pizza. until I discovered my gluten allergy, I ate there a bunch and loved it. I will not be getting gluten free pizza here again! everything else was great.
Best GF pizza I have ever had!! Expensive but so worth it!
Very good. We split a salad and the white pizza. Salad came out in 5 minutes & pizza took 25, which I think is a reasonable amount of time for homemade pizza. While the price is a bit high, I'd still go back. Just not too often.
Delicious pizza with a pesto swirl! Expect the wait for dine in or carry out to be very long. It is great to be able to enjoy pizza night with everyone else!
I was very disappointed. Not only did we wait 45 minutes to get our pizza, but my order was wrong and my husband's pizza was cold. We were so looking forward to the pizza. Also, the GF pizza is very expensive. Two medium pizzas came out to $48!!!!!
They have a separate gluten free pizza section of the menu with about 6 different pizza options, or create your own from a list. The staff was nice but we waited a long time to be served though it wasn't crowded. They gave us a discount when we mentioned waiting 45 plus minutes after ordering to get our food. My daughter with a wheat allergy enjoyed being able to have pizza. The menu says the gluten free pizza is all cooked separately.
The gluten-free pizza is very good.
The lady said you can order any pizza and put on a gfree crust so I tried the holy shiitake mushroom, it was pretty good and nice size. (12 inches) I never had a crust like that before so it was very different but I will try it again. I was just glad to have restaurant style pizza for my daughters birthday dinner
I agree with the other reviews! I often feel sick after eating here and have had much better pizza with no cross contamination effects from other Mellow Mushrooms.
Enjoyed some GF pizza and an angry orchard cider (on tap)! Pizza was delicious and super cheesy, always a plus! They had a lot of different options for GF people and our waitress was familiar with my allergy and what my options were. I would definitely go back again!
Love the gluten-free pizza here, especially with the pesto sauce!
They have a little gluten free menu that still includes all cool names of their foods and such, quite a fun gluten free dining experience. Especially because I'm a teenager, I love there GF pizza, with some bacon. They were very friendly and happy to help meet my dietary restrictions
I have to give 2 stars based only on the GF aspect (since this is a review for a GF app...). 15 minutes after leaving and my guts feel like they are going to explode and the search for a bathroom starts.... Everything else: it was a clean establishment and decorated nicely. The food did taste good but I do not know if my pizza was GF. Our waiter was VERY new (we might have been his 1st table ever) and had to keep leaving to find answers to our questions. They delivered the kids Mac & cheese is a ramekin STRAIGHT out of the oven, the dish was hot for 20 minutes. I think there is a lot of room for improvement as far as the gluten free food is handled, new employee training and common sense.
I appreciate their effort, but Mellow's GF pizza is not good. The crust tastes like card board and costs almost $20. Do yourself a favor and don't risk cross contamination for this pizza. Go buy a frozen Against the Grain pizza from Publix instead - much better.
Best gluten free pizza. Very knowledgeable and dedicated oven
UPDATED REVIEW: We did eat there many, many times and we were fine but after getting glutened once (very badly) we haven't been back. I kindly brought it to the attention of management and was ignored. We've taken our business to California Pizza Kitchen. Not worth the risk. Bummed by this though. :( ------ Great GF pizza! Personally, I love the thin GF crust -wouldn't trade it for gluten crust even if I could. Very accommodating to our food allergies.
One star is extremely generous. I asked for a Stella Cidre. Then I asked about their speciality pies with a gf crust. She said that she couldn't guarantee it would be gluten free, I said I'd rather be safe than sorry so stuck with one of their gf options. I get the beer, take a sip and immediately realize this is an amazing tasting cider it tastes almost like real beer. Well, that's because it was real beer she gave me a Stella. Fast forward 30 minutes and I'm vomiting in their bathroom while my friend is speaking to the waitress about it. The waitress tells her I ordered a regular Stella. She explains I have celiac disease, and that the waitress had repeated it back to me. No discount or anything just an extremely insincere apology. I had to leave work because I was so sick. I emailed and the owner gave me some reply about how they do educate all of their staff on celiac disease. Well, it was a big red flag when I was asking about the safety of the gluten free pizza and she had just taken my Stella cidre order. They gave me a $30 gift card to use there. I'm not going back.
I have been to this location multiple times and they have only made my order right a handful. I have celiacs and they offer gluten free, but my toppings always get screwed up. I keep ordering from them, when I am craving a pizza, but without fail I'm sitting at the bar while they present me 3+ mess ups. Listen, I work hard, I rarely have money to eat out, but I feel like a jerk constantly complaining about their mess ups. I've worked in the pizza/food service industry and reading a ticket, gluten free or not, isn't that hard. By the third time they bring me the wrong pizza, I just say thank you and leave with what ever they give me. As if it weren't bad enough having a dietary restriction, I don't want to seem obnoxious and gate complaining.
This mellow mushroom does gf pizza better than the one in Raleigh that I frequent. The pizza was crisper, and more like a regular thin crust pizza. Was here over Thanksgiving weekend and even though they were busy service was good and as always the pizza was delicious.
Awesome gluten free pizzas!!
All salad dressings are GF!!! Staff is knowledgeable. Very good service and bartender took extra precautions. Of course the GF pizza is great and medium sized, so I always end up taking some home. Love this place and will continue to go regularly!
Such a cool, funky atmosphere! The staff was beyond friendly and helpful. They have many GF options but were very clear that because 2 of us had Celiac, we should limit our choices to the pizza. No problem with that, LOTS of combinations. The whole experience was delightful, and hours later we are feeling completely fine...not glutened! :)
