We had a good experience here. I have very sensitive Celiac and cross contamination is a serious issue. Our server seemed to understand that and automatically accommodated where she could. She substituted cucumber salad for the potsticker appetizer without me asking for it. But as one of the other reviews said, their most serious accommodation is to leave out soy sauce and flour, and it is a shared fryer. Probably many of you share my experience that so much of dining out depends on the server. We had very good luck at Miss Shirley’s with our server. It is not the highest quality Chinese I have ever had but the vibe in the restaurant is marvelous! We would go back if we were in town again.

Delicious food. Make sure to ask about cross contamination if you also have celiac but our server took the time to go through each item. Definitely going back.

Food was tasty, but apparently they do GF by leaving out soy sauce and flour. I'm not sure they take other precautions. They did have a very small amount of GF soy I could add to the food. I had trouble determining if the fryer was shared; the answer seemed to be yes. I avoided anything fried, even if marked GF on the menu, as a result. Not a lot of variety in the options. I feel bad saying this, but if I were local, I'd make my own GF Chinese food.

I only had two of the dumplings but they were delicious. I’m planning to go back tomorrow for dinner :)

Miss Shirley’s has many gluten-free options that are listed on the menu as GF or AGF ( gluten free available if ask). These include steamed shrimp dumplings, egg rolls, egg drop soup, hot and sour soup, seafood soup, beef chow fun, vegetables, choice chicken/shrimp/beef/pork with vegetables or broccoli, fried rice, and others.

I emailed ahead to ask for gluten free options on Christmas Day. I was told that everything is made in shared woks and friers, so I avoided the fried food and knew there was some risk with the non-fried food in shared woks that may or may not be cleaned between cooking. The order itself said gluten free on the time, but it said no soy sauce (good) no corn starch (unnecessary) which didn’t help my confidence. They forgot to make my order (it was Christmas). Once they made it The takeout food was mediocre and small.
