This place was not good at all. The gluten free crust was tough. The staff was rude and told us that our order made something “harder” just by asking for half of the pizza with olive oil. Would not recommend. You are way better off going to Blaze pizza. They also would not separate the gluten free and non gluten free pizzas properly.

This place is not good for anyone who has celiac. The staff at the location (Naperville)were rude and acted very put out when we asked them to change gloves and give us new pans for our pizza. Then she proceeded to tell us that there was a long line behind us so she would have to make ours separate. Very frustrating.

They have a gluten free crust, but cross contamination is everywhere. I got incredibly sick for eating here.

Kudos for having a gluten-free crust option, but other than that it was definitely not a good experience. The staff member assisting us was visibly irked at having to make any changes. He wasn’t going to change his gloves, and when I asked him if he could, he told me that since they were not a dedicated gluten-free facility, I ran the risk of running into cross contamination. He just didn’t understand that even non-gluten-free restaurants change their gloves and clean off services when dealing with an allergy. Another (very kind) staff member volunteered to take over my order, and he was very nice. What happened next was not his fault. He was very accommodating, but completely uneducated when it came to handling the order. He changed his gloves at my request, but the ladle used for dipping sauceIs dragged across the surface of the pizza for every order, thus cross contaminating the entire batch of sauce. There were obviously flour and crumbs everywhere, and the pizza is fired and rolled on the same surface as regular crusts.
Lastly, the pizza is cut with the same pizza cutter. I jumped in just in time to tell them not to cut the pizza.
I still ordered, knowing that my non celiac family would eat the pizza if I was uncomfortable eating it. I tried one slice, and immediately knew that if I finished anymore, then I would regret it.
If this restaurant is going to offer gluten-free crust, they absolutely need to do more in educating their staff. I’m not sure what steps they would need to take to minimize cross contamination in other ways, but as far as being a safe place to eat, this definitely was one of the least successful places I’ve ever been to.
Update!
I did speak with a manager about the cross contamination situation. I hate complaining and I’m not one who usually goes to management about a negative experience, but I thought they should know since they offer the gluten-free crust option.
She insisted that they always use separate cutters and separate crusts, but they use the same oven, same paddle, and other utensils are shared as well. Very slight changes could be made here, such as only firing gluten-free crust on a certain side of the oven or even just flipping the paddle over. None of this seems to be considered by staff or management there; it seems like gluten-free crusts are only offered because of corporate requirement. But beyond that, there is definitely no real desire to accommodate anything other than your average pizza.

Gluten free crust but major cross contamination concerns. NOT celiac friendly

They have decent crust and unlimited toppings but make sure to ask for special utensils and tray, there is cross contamination so I had to be stern to ask for clean utensils, the other reno location was more precautious!

They offer a gluten free crust. Workers are always sure to change their gloves and use an allergy screen when preparing your pizza. However, items are at risk of cross contamination due to the nature of the restaurant.

Excellent service! They asked me if it was an allergy or a preference. I said allergy and they pulled all fresh ingredients to prevent cross contamination. The staff was super careful not to touch anything that was an allergen (I have multiple other allergies). Overall I was very impressed.

I like Mod Pizza. I go there about once a month when I dont want to cook. I usually get the gluten-free crust, regular sauce, diary free cheese, mushrooms, onions, banana peppers, spinach, and chickpeas. I think the vegan suasage option has gluten. I also get a big salad and omit everything with gluten or dairy.
They attempt to avoid cross contaminating with changing gloves, etc, but it is all in one area. If you have celiacs and are very sensitive probably not a good idea. I am a gluten intolerant so as long as they do as much as they can, I don't have a reaction. And it depends on the level of knowledge of the staff thar is working.
They can also accommodate me for dairy free which is amazing. I don't recall about the meat they use so be sure to ask if it has gluten. I know the regular pizza sauce is safe but check with regards to the others. I think they use only basic ingredients in their products and not a lot of additives and fillers.

While a chain, we feel this location is mindful of allergies. We’ve eaten here six times with no ‘glutening’ or a reaction for my egg/dairy allergy. We’ve even placed an order for pick up, requesting a glove change in the notes, and ate safely! The pizza is just okay though. The GF pizza leaves a lot to be desired, and the vegan cheese is a little gooey. But when we’re in a hurry, it’s nice to have a safe place to grab a quick personal pizza.
