100% GF and 100% delicious. This is some of the best sushi we’ve had, and neither of us usually like it. My options for egg-free and dairy-free were more limited in fish options, but they have amazing vegan options. I have nothing bad to say about this place. Everything was on point. Must try!

Nami Nori is hands down my favorite sushi restaurant. Everything is GF and so fresh. This is a special occasion restaurant for me as it is on the pricier side, but it’s so good. I usually get the classic set but I enjoy the vegan options too. Lots of good appetizers as well.

This place slaps. Creative, surprising, and thoroughly delicious hand rolls. They also have an excellent takeout set up — they package the rolls very thoughtfully so they were in perfect condition without nori or toppings everywhere.

To my surprise, I liked the coconut shrimp best, but the XO scallop was also revelatory. It’s not cheap but the prices seem very fair for the quality.

Misleading Claims and Disregard for Celiac Customers at Nami Nori Williamsburg

I had an incredibly disappointing and concerning experience at Nami Nori Williamsburg, a restaurant that claims to be dedicated to serving gluten and celiac-friendly food. I don’t usually write reviews, but the blatant disregard for my health and safety have left me no choice.

Upon arriving, I made sure to inform the waitress about my Celiac disease. I was assured that Nami Nori’s entire food menu was in fact all gluten free and the only gluten they served was in the form of beer, but gluten-free beer options were also available. So I proceeded to order a gluten-free beer and when it arrived I made sure to check the label, just to be sure. I didn’t see any signs being gluten-free…

After a few minutes, the manager later approached me and admitted that the beer was, in fact, not gluten-free and would bring the actual gluten-free beer in just a moment. If I hadn’t checked the label, I surely wouldn’t starting drinking it! Later the server approached me and carelessly claimed this was an "honest mistake.”

Despite her initial apology, the waitress proceeded to avoid me for the rest of the evening. She wouldn’t talk to me but had no issue acknowledging the rest of my party. It is deeply disheartening to witness such unprofessional behaviour, especially when dealing with a health issue as critical as Celiac disease.

As someone with Celiac disease, I rely on restaurants that genuinely prioritize the safety and well-being of their customers. Nami Nori's false claims and the subsequent mishandling of my dietary needs not only put my health at risk but also undermine the credibility of their supposed dedication to gluten-free dining.

I urge those with Celiac disease or gluten sensitivities to exercise extreme caution when considering dining at Nami Nori Williamsburg. Their disregard for the health and safety of their customers is a grave concern that should not be taken lightly.

In summary, my experience at Nami Nori Williamsburg was deeply disappointing and troubling, marked by misleading claims, a lack of understanding, and a dismissive attitude towards customers with dietary restrictions.

The staff were very friendly. Sushi is done as temaki, so is like little Japanese tacos. Everything we had was amazing but we especially loved the furikake fries, and coconut shrimp and tuna poke temaki. If you like peach, try the white peach soda.

This is one of the best restaurants in my and it happens to be GF! Aside from them being really intense and strict about reservations and only giving you an hour from dinner, the food is spectacular. Very, very tasty sushi and apps. My favs are the coconut shrimp roll, the yuzu seltzer, and the churros for dessert. But the truth is, you can’t go wrong!

It was such a pleasure to have a delicious Japanese meal where there were no worries of gluten. (One of my favorite cuisines but always so tricky to eat out.) The food was amazing from the furikake fries and nami nori salad to the temaki (spicy tuna, avocado toast + others) and the miso chocolate chip cookie - yum. Not to mention the sake! The waiter was so delightful and knowledgeable and the ambience was perfect. I am over the moon that a place like this exists!

Absolutely the coolest gluten free restaurant in New York. Very chic and trendy, innovative food, cool vibe, and unique cocktails. It’s so cool to feel normal and be able to order anything you want at such a nice, popular restaurant! I got the strawberry sting cocktail, the calamari, and the signature set. Very fresh fish and well balanced flavors. Also incredible vegan options that don’t feel like an afterthought. It’s a bit pricey, but so worth it for a special occasion!

I wanted to visit their other location in the West Village when I realized they opened a new one in my neighborhood. Checked with them if their whole food menu was gluten free, which it was. All drinks except for beers are also gluten free, they do carry gf beer (millet based) as well. The food was absolutely amazing. We had rice crackers with mushroom dip, the vegan signature temaki set and churros with mochi filling as dessert. Everything was excellent, they could answer my questions and it was lovely eating somewhere without worries.
