When I ordered my noodles over the phone I asked for the rice noodles. The employee asked if it was for an allergy and assured me that they would use a new pan. The order came with only rice noodles, however, I got sick off of it so I believe they didn't do a very good job of preventing cross-contamination.
I went to Noodles with my coworkers and researched ahead of time on the Internet and called the restaurant. They have many modifications you can do or you can get the pad thai which has 0 modifications needed. I went to noodles and ordered the pad thai. I asked them to cook it in a new batch of water in a freshly cleaned bowl and they said that they would accommodate and watch for cross contamination. At the end of my bowl, there was a wheat macaroni noodle. After I had eaten my entire meal. Needless to say the side effects were immense. I got very sick and will never return to noodles and company again. I highly advise you to talk to the manager when you go there if you choose to go to see if you can get their support.
Gluten free pasta is good in certain dishes. Has made me slightly sick/uncomfortable a few times out of many times going here- enough to not really want to keep going.
ate there several times w no contamination and today nailed by gluten contamination
They offer gf noodles and have a menu where they share specifically what meals don't have gluten. Had the Pad Thai and it was Awesome! Full of flavor!
I have been twice the first time was great. my brother who has OCD makes it really had to eat at my house. so we out but now that I am gluten sensitive its been nearly impossible to get good food that can be safe for me and him. the second time I went was a little harder because the person who took my order was training and didn't know how to put in an allergy yet it took an extra 3 minutes and asking questions ."..of the sauce has flour so would you prefer cheese or no sauce at all?" and "did u order a regular or a small?" it was worth the first trip i just wish noodles and company could train about allergies first I'd this guy who is the second cook hadn't helped i would have paid for the wrong meal and gotten tomato's another allergy I have. I think I will go back just wanted you to know trainees are hit and miss
Make it clear that you have an allergy. Manager is knowledgable but general staff were not. Chicken is prepared on the same grill as crusted items that contain gluten. I stick to shrimp and the pad Thai and have been fine twice with that. I had a reaction first two times when I had chicken pad Thai.
How careful they are about your gluten free order really depends on how busy they are when you come in. If it's empty they are great and super careful, but if there are even a few other customers you might get sick. Their gluten free dishes are pretty good though!
It was very surprising to see that they have a very large choices of gluten free options. They even have a gluten free menu. I'll will go there very often now. The employee also said that they are changing many more soups and sauces to be gluten free. He told me that they just switched the tomato soup (which is awesome by the way) and Wisconsin Mac and Cheese just went gluten free (yum) needless to say I had both.
The only gf pasta choices are rice noodles and fusilli. I had the fusilli with pesto, roasted tomatoes & mushrooms. The staff was friendly, but not any real knowledge about how the food is prepared. She actually told me that I should talk to my doctor before eating there because then I would know what I could have... Hmmm. Brilliant idea. Long story short, the pasta was gummy and did not outweigh the risk of being glutened (potentially). We will not be going back. Ever.
Ordered Gluten free pasta option with Tuscan sauce option. Received wrong pasta that was not gluten free. Didnt notice til I got home unfortunately. We Called to speak to manager. She really didnt care to help me out. Kept insisting I ordered it wrong. Not sensitive to my situation, didnt care that I could have gotten sick. Will never be going back here because I will never trust the food.
The only item I trust is the Pad Thai because the entire entree is listed as gluten free. Substituting gluten free noodles in different entrees may not have gluten free sauces. Also some meat options that you can add may not be gluten free (an employee told me this, so I avoid meat as well) But I absolutely love the Pad Thai and visit often.
I'm severely gluten intolerant, but not celiac. The staff at this location thought that intolerant meant choice to be gluten free and made my Asian pasta with regular soy sauce. I assumed I didn't need to speak with the manager because I had heard how good Noodles and Company was with GF food.I had a reaction for the rest of the day. Every other location knows and makes my dish gluten free and no reaction. Lesson learned- do not go to this location unless you're celiac, and even then I'd very specific and speak directly to the manager.
The review below is from May. Based on this experience, we had largely been avoiding this restaurant but gave it another try yesterday and the same thing happened. We generally have been happy with Noodles & Company but yesterday found bits of other noodles in a rice noodle order that had been put in with an allergy flag. The store apologized and refunded the order but that does not solve the problem, of course.
Eat here every other week. Be careful of the sauces, for example the Mac and cheese sauce has gluten in it. Someone workers know that some don't. Make sure you double check before you ordered. When you order rice noodles or gf noodles always say you have a gluten allergy. This requires a manager swipe and they use a different pan to make your food.
DO NOT GO HERE. Their "gluten guides" are entirely outdated. I ordered something off of it, took a few bites and felt like it tasted way too good to be gluten free, and of course it wasn't. This order went through both the cashier and the manager, and nobody stopped to tell me it wasn't actually GF. I'm now facing the consequences. The cashier seemed concerned and was very apologetic but the manager didn't seem like he was the slightest bit remorseful. Rude and uneducated staff means I'll never be back there.
Be careful. I have tried on several occasions to enjoy the gluten free selections and have been incredibly sick every time. I always tell them I have Celiac Disease and ask for them to please make sure they're using fresh water and seperate utensils and pans. I so wish I could safely eat here.
Went with my vegetarian spouse, and it was very tasty. Had the Pad Thai with grilled chicken, and a side of the EXCELLENT tomato bisque. Will almost certainly return, though I think I ate too much and will have to be sure I actually get the small next time xD
have made this a regular lunch stop. the pad Thai contains gf ingredients only. i add the shrimp as it is sautéed in a pan not on grill. consistent quality and good price. you can tell person taking your order to flag it with a gluten allergy. have not tried the pasta.
They make all of their gluten free noodles (rice and fusilli) in the morning before anything else goes in. They have separate pans for gluten free dishes. Not all options can be made GF but nice selection. I'm celiac and I eat there, usually with no issues.
