I have a severe gluten intolerance and recently dined at Oak Park restaurant in Des Moines. The atmosphere is elegant and I highly recommend it for a special meal. Though there are no menu items specifically marked gluten-free, our server seemed well-informed and suggested any meat entree from the ‘Josper Charcoal Grill.’ I had the bacon glazed chop with no modifications. It was excellent, perfectly prepared, and I did not have any reaction at all. I also had the poached pear sorbet for dessert. It was delicious and the cinnamon crunch topper was ‘gluten free’ enough for me. Great experience, delicious food, no averse reaction.

We were there for their soft opening. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. The staff was friendly and appeared knowledgeable about gluten free offerings. Our waitress was Emily. She was great and if she wasn’t sure she asked. There were several choices that were gf. Our meal was amazing. Our appetizers were the bourbon candied bacon and it was awesome and the Mediterranean Prawn was ok. Our main entrees were filet mignon and bacon glazed chop and they were melt in your mouth delicious! For dessert we had the Pavlova and the Poached Pear Sorbet and a Cappuccino. All three were absolutely amazing! Would absolutely recommend this restaurant for a wonderful night out.
