Staff was excellent in guiding choices to avoid gluten and other allergens. The Miso Black Cod was unbelievably delicious with a modified gluten free sauce. The nigiri sake was melt in your mouth wonderful. Beautiful ambience with ocean view.

I have eaten here many times without any problems with cross contamination. Staff is knowledgeable about what can be made gluten free. I love the rice noodle Yakisoba with chicken! So good. I usually order it with a side of bok choy. Request both to be made with gluten free tamari!

We had a super dinner here! My celiac partner had edamame, a salad with pears, and a spicy tuna roll. Waitstaff was very knowledgeable and Kitchen was careful about prep & delivery.

I was visiting Santa Barbara and we saw the high recommendation from this site so we tried it out. I informed the waitress I am gluten free she immediately brought over the gluten free soya sauce. All the staff was informed I was gluten free . We sat upstairs on the outdoors patio overlooking the ocean. It was Chilly but the heat lamps were on so it was comfy. No food reaction after eating here and the Sushi was so excellent and fresh. Everyone needs to check Oku out you won’t regret it.

Staff was very knowledgeable about gluten free and cross contamination. There were 3 people in my party, 2 of us gluten free, and we all thought the food was amazing. The server brought out gf soy sauce without anyone having to ask if they had any. They even have gf options on their dessert menu.

Was so glad I came across the review on this app. The waiter was familiar with what was gf. I was able to have the California roll which had actual crab, not imitation. The garlic filet was delicious! My daughter had the rice noodle ramen and they can make that gf too. Didn’t have dessert but there were a few on the menu that were gf. Right by the water so if the weather is nice, try to sit outside.

Amazing sushi! Staff really knows about celiac- most of the menu can be converted to gluten free.

They use a gluten free rice vinegar for sushi- and have glutrn free tamari sauce instead of soy sauce if you ask for it
