Not many options, I've dined here twice. Food is good, not great, I've never had a contamination problem,
We went to Olive Garden because they have a gf menu but an order of gf pasta for one of our party of four with celiac came out and tasted good until she discovered a wheat pasta noodle in the dish. Manager and waiter were very apologetic but I would never trust this restaurant agan.
Terribly slow service and GF noodles weren't cooked all the way! Very disappointed with a restaurant I used to like.
Olive Garden's gf menu is practically a joke. You can get pasta (not tasty pasta mind you, but at least it's something) with some meat and seasonings. You can get pasta with some meat and some slightly different seasonings. You can get pasta with some meat and some sauce. Or you can get the grill - chicken, beef, or chicken and beef. While the grill is very tasty and filling, the pastas are pretty lacking, bland, and not filling. However, the grill grows old real fast. THIS location used to be really bad: the chef told me to my face that anyone who ordered gf, dairy free, peppers free (like I do), or any other alterations was bull$h!t and he would not make changes for them. He might say they were whatever-free, but they weren't. He said he thought it was all a load of crap and that all those people were faking it. Well, that didn't last long. I complained to the manager about it, and the chef was fired. Now, it's a great place to eat. The parking's a little hard to navigate, but the service is wonderful. The staff are mostly knowledgeable, and helpful. However, the food is just so blah.
Miserable experience for me. Hardly any selections. My GF pasta obviously had some form of gluten. I had to rush home since I was sick after 4 bites. I tell our server we are GF and she sticks a basket of bread in front of me. Apparently, she didn't care when I said our table is GF due to celiacs. Never again!!!!!
I have eaten at Olive Garden successfully, just not this location. My daughter and I ordered dishes with gluten free rotini. Her kids meal showed up and she was eating it before I realized that it was actually the cavatappi pasta which is definitely glutinous. I was eating my shrimp scampi with gf rotini when I found angel hair pasta mixed throughout!! I'm not sure what they are doing in the kitchen but it is definitely not a safe place to eat. That said, the manager was extremely apologetic and comped our meals and then personally fixed a fresh plate for my daughter which is why they got a second star. Hopefully, they will take more care in the future but I don't think we'll be back.
While there are gluten free options, they are very limited; salad, gf rotini with either marinara or meat sauce, a steak dish and a salmon dish. There is are also kid options, but not many more than three. The national website boasts more gf options than what is actually available at this location. There is a disclaimer that they cannot guarantee against cross contamination.
Every single time I've eaten here I've been glutened. The staff is uneducated about Celiac-friendliness and there's cross contamination in the kitchen. I was served salad with croutons even though requested it without and staff seemed annoyed that I asked for a new salad. Would not recommend if you have Celiacs Disease, too much stress and you end up glutened anyway.
I ordered off the gluten free menu. When my food came it was clearly regular noodles & bread crumbs on my chicken. The server took it back but then came back to question me as if they didn't offer that dish as gluten free. A few minutes later the manager came over to apologize and said they had just updated the GF menu and it was a new dish (that nobody seemed to be trained on). They brought me out the GF noodles right away but I had to wait a really long time for the chicken while my family was already finished with their dinners. Pretty soon after I had a reaction. Not full on - but definitely some sort of cross contamination. This particular location does not seem to take good allergies seriously. I would not recommend.
Really tasty gluten free rotini. 4 gluten-free sauces and a couple of toppings. Pasta is cooked in kettle separate from other pastas and then added directly to saute pan, per company website. Aside from the pasta, there is also a separate "gluten sensitive" menu that is not appropriate if you have celiac disease. Server was very sensitive to my questions since this was my first meal out since being diagnosed and still healing.
Ordered gluten free pasta, sauce, and shrimp. Ate some of my "safe" pasta and found a gnocchi pasta in my bowl. Manager said I'd be fine because they were cooked in separate water. He obviously doesn't understand celiac. It was rolling around in my bowl contaminating my entire plate. I also had to pay full price for being glutened. The manager just simply said to call him if I got sick. IF I got sick. ugh...
I went here for a family member birthday celebration. I ordered the grilled chicken parmigiana. I requested no pasta, because I couldn't trust that it would truly be gluten free. They brought the dish with the pasta anyway. The waitress assured me it was gluten free and cooked entirely separate. I chose to try it. Still hesitated, until the manager came to tell me it was cooked correctly, they were serious about cooking safe, and he understood because he had a good friend who was celiac. They went the extra mile. A pleasant experience, food good.
I agree that the menu is pitiful. I ordered the only thing I could as a Celiac the pasta with chicken. A month later I am still sick. I will not eat here ever again. Outback Steakhouse down the road is great and I have eaten there numerous times and NEVER got sick. If you are a Celiac avoid Olive Garden! Go to Outback (they have better service as well)
Something so wrong in the kitchen. Three times now I've gone and ordered gf pasta and find remnants of whole wheat (not gf) pasta in the mix. The manager went and checked and said she watched them boil when recooking a batch. I think they reuse pots or colander and don't wash them. I understand it is not guaranteed against cross-contamination, but actually finding noodles mixed is completely and easily avoidable. Don't eat here.
After speaking with the server and explaining very very clearly what happens if I get sick and asked what precautions they take if a person has celiac disease. Seriously it was such an in depth convo about it I order and get my food. After a few bites I just knew it was NOT gluten free. When she came back and I asked her if it was gluten free she points to my dish and says oh that? No it's not. I was so angry. Angry because of how sick I get for about a month after. DO NOT go her if you have celiac disease.
no...the waiter had no knowledge of jow to handle a celiac patient. my food was brought out overcooked, so i sent it back and it came with different sides the 2nd time. By then it was too late and I had been glutened. I was sick within 15 minutes.
We didn't even eat because we sat there for over ten minutes with no server and looked at the menu that had ridiculous prices for almost everything. I can make good Gf pasta at home for $3, I'm not going to pay 13 just for pasta I can make at home and 17 for chicken and pasta!

Found a spaghetti noodle in my gluten free pasta. I'd specifically noted a gluten allergy. This actually happened to me at a California Olive Garden about 2 years ago, so there's clearly something wrong with the chain as a whole. Don't eat here if cross contamination makes you sick!!!
Went here in the hopes of having pasta. When I went there on the menu it wasn't a option. In fact I only had only a couple of options to eat period! Fish or steak or salad. Then they couldn't tell me if the dressing was gluten-free or not. That I found out at the store and it's not after reading the list!! Needless to say I paid for a over priced meal and left hungry. Very disappointing!!
Found regular pasta shells in my GF rotini. Throwing up before I even left. Won't trust them again.
I was so very disappointed to bring my family here to the Olive Garden in Waldorf to leave hungry because they had nothing for me to eat safely. I ordered the gluten free rotini with gluten free meat sauce and gluten free sausage. I requested the salad be gluten free. I was first informed they didn't have a gluten free dressing, then that they only had oil and were out of vinegar. So I requested to just take it home so I could eat it with dressing there. Then the waiter came back and told me that even though the items indicated they were gluten free, the chef indicated they weren't. Disappointed is not even the word. We asked to cancel our order and be charged for the salad and breadsticks my family ordered.
My gluten free rotini was hiding a handful of regular pasta shells - probably in the sauce since it wasn't in my mother-in-laws dish. The waiter was nice, but I didn't notice it before I took a few bites. Bummer. I asked them to check the sauce, not sure if he listened.
I didn't feel right after eating there but nothing too horrible. The waiter told me their only GF salad dressing was their house dressing. The company states that they can't guarantee it's GF because it's made in a separate facility that they don't know whether they process wheat or not....
