They didn’t have specifics about their GF availability, but i called them before our reservation and the hostess was so understanding and sweet! when you ask, they have gluten free pasta and pizza dough, and bread they make in house! both were wonderful and the staff was so kind! only getting 4 stars because of the no specifications, but the waiters are super knowledgeable!

Amazing food, cocktails and ambiance. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about celiac and steered me towards the safe options and away from foods that used the fryer. They brought delicious and warm gluten free bread to the table! I did not have the gf pasta or pizza but they do offer these as well. No reactions for me and I would definitely would come back.

The food was amazing! Best gluten free Italian I have ever had! I got fresh baked gluten free bread with my gfree pasta and a yummy dessert. I can’t wait to go back! By far one of my favorite restaurants now. Try it you won’t be sorry!

They use the same pasta water for gluten and gluten free and also use the same ovens. The pasta water was most concerning.
Most higher end restaurants are pretty good at accommodating. This one was no different. I was not thrilled to hear they use the same pasta water for gluten and gluten free pasta as that defeats the purpose. There are gluten free pizza crusts but I’m not sure how much I’d trust them based on the pasta thing. I had chicken and it was delicious. There was chocolate sorbetto as well that was vegan and all the food I had was delicious. I hope that during non covid times, the gluten thing is handled better.
REALLY good food and beautiful establishment. I’ll definitely be back.

Would not recommend for a celiac. Got glutened really bad here. They cook the pasta in the same water as normal. The gluten free bread is cross contaminated. I got the chicken dish and was sick within a few hours.

I have eaten here probably 100 times over the years. Never ever been sick. Great pizza too.
Yes
GF pasta and pizza. Pasta is cooked separately if asked. Pizza is cooked in the same wood fire oven as non-gf pizza but they will brush it out if asked. Had the pizza based on other reviews. Good choice!

The owner seated us an we asked about his Gluten free options and everything but the lasagna can be made gluten free that was so awesome to hear☺
Great GF bread and pasta. My server Pablo didn’t take the extra time I’d hoped to go through the menu, but when I asked if certain things could be done he did check and reply. Food was exceptional and I didn’t get sick.

I Felt safe eating here. Waiter understood gluten free and knew what he was doing.
You can ask for Gluten free bread for the table that you can dip in olive oil and balsamic. That is just unheard of. Very cool. Seafood was fresh.
Yes
Had housemade gluten free rosemary bread for the table which is always a treat, and fresh gluten free pasta. I had the Papardelle Pancetta and it was delicious! Unsure about cross contamination risks but I had no adverse effects after eating there. Would recommend
Tons of gluten free options! They were out of gluten free bread unfortunately, but my celiac partner had a gluten free pasta dish which was quite good. I had the lemon Mary’s chicken and the house salad, both of which were gluten free by default and also incredibly delicious. We didn’t try the pizza but that was also available with gluten free crust. The staff was knowledgeable and happy to answer questions, including writing down the name of ingredients and asking the cooks. We both felt great the next day.

Knowledgeable, friend staff with really yummy GF pasta AND pizza. I tried the pizza, and it was really great. Definitely worth the try!

They make GF pasta and pizza. I was a little nervous when they told me they make the pizza in the same oven as gluten pizzas, but the manager came over when he heard I have celiac and assured me they have never had a problem. I ended up having pizza and felt fine after. Of course, I’d tell any celiac to proceed with caution and do what feels right for them. They also checked anything they weren’t sure about and were very friendly.

If you have CELIAC disease beware at Pasta Moon! My family and I went on a day trip to Half Moon Bay on Sunday February 4, 2018 and stopped at Pasta Moon for lunch.
My mother has Celiac disease so we were glad to find a place that offered gluten free options. My mother ordered a GLUTEN FREE PASTA WITH NO PORK (since she also does not eat pork for religious reasons). When her pasta arrived, and after she ate 3-4 full bites, she called the waiter to ask if he was sure it was gluten free. The waiter looked shocked, confirmed that it was NOT gluten free, apologized and took her dish to change it. 20min later Her gluten free pasta finally arrived! (Everyone at the table had finished eating by then).
Once again, she ate a few bites only to realise that it has pork!!!
The waiter once again apologized, took her dish and said he would finally replace it with the gluten free/no pork dish she had originally ordered. By then we asked him to place it in a “to go” box since we were all done with our food and more than ready to leave.
In the meantime, we paid the bill (Which was the full amount minus one Salad we had ordered) and waited and waited for almost 20 minutes. When we finally got tired of waiting, I went to ask the waiter where her "to go" pasta was to which he replied very casually “oh I’m sorry the kitchen had closed so we couldn’t prepare it.”
He didn’t even have the decency to come tell us that the pasta was never going to come. He let us just sit there and wait.
At that point we were all fuming at the service and carelessness that we were met with at the restaurant. I asked to speak with the owner; Kim Levin. She apologized (naturally) and told us that she would love for us to come back to half moon bay for a free dinner.
We explained that we don’t live in the US and are only here visiting my sister who lives about 2 hours away from Half Moon Bay, and that we will be leaving the US in a few days, so it’s not realistic for us to return. At that point she said that she would send my sister (who lives in California) a voucher for a free meal. Of course, 20+ days later that voucher has not and will probably never arrive in the mail and either way it is ridiculous that that was the best she could do, seeing as my mother ended up leaving without eating anything at all!
We were already IN the restaurant so she could have at least offered to refund the money we just paid for what was a truly miserable lunch experience. Basically the only thing they did for us was not charge us for one salad!!!
Overall, an extremely disappointing experience by an extremely untrustworthy and disrespectful team.

Great gf options and very accommodating staff. Loved the local vegs
No GF menu per se but the staff works with you. They have two types of GF pasta. The menu is seasonal and the veggies are from local farms. I've eaten there twice and both meals (soup, entrée, dessert) were outstanding. Last time I had one of their specials, it was pasta with a lemon sauce and fresh Dungeness crab and it was quite possibly the best pasta dish I have ever had.
