Th y no longer have anything gluten free they changed there calamari recipe, that’s what I liked! They only have salads that are gluten free

We are so glad we gave this restaurant a chance. Based on the reviews we were a bit nervous.

Don’t settle for pictures of their menu. My wife talked to the manager and she stated about 75% of their menu is/can be made gluten-free.

Our waitress was Kat (aka Hutch as there are several Kay’s there). She was phenomenal! She knew exactly what my wife (gluten allergy) could have. She ordered the crispy skin local sea bass. It was delicious and she did not have any reaction.

I had upgraded the fish tacos to Mahi Mahi and they were very good.

We will definitely be eating here again on future visits to New Bern.

Best meal I've had in years. So many varied GF options. The waitress was very knowledgeable about which dishes were gluten free or could be modified. I have other food allergies and they accommodated them all.

Gorgeous waterfront setting. Highly recommend Persimmons.

Don’t risk it. Menu has many options, however the staff is clueless. Sever brought our food. We started to eat....then was told they had a mix up in the kitchen.

I’ve eaten here many times with no problem but last night they got two strikes. I’m celiac and dairy free. There was a big chunk of granola in my salad, cream sauce on my entree and I THEN had to take Benadryl after I left because something gave me a true allergic reaction — I realize that’s not their fault but I’ve never had histamine-mediated allergies before so that was fun. The waitress didn’t seem to understand the importance of getting it right. We did get a free dessert, but of course none were GF DF so my son got to eat it. :-/

Wonderful menu with many gf options and fresh seafood! Fried foods are all done with a gf breading -- fried calamari appetizer is great. This is a high end restaurant with beautiful view of the river and outdoor seating available. However reservations for dinner are highly recommended, even on weekdays. They will do takeout and lunch is also nice.
