Phat Boy Sushi & Kitchen

It was easy to identify GF items since they were clearly marked and lots of options to choose from. We ordered takeout and I was glad to see the receipt on the bag had “GF” labeled beside each of the sushi rolls I ordered.

The only issue was that I received an incorrect item that wasn’t in my order that was not GF (shrimp tempura roll). I attributed this as an issue with the takeout process vs the actual food preparation. Nonetheless, always double check your order! They credited me back the cost of the roll since they sent the wrong one. Otherwise the GF roll was delicious and and they also included GF soy sauce.

For those who hace Celiac Disease, intolerance or allergy to Gluten, DON’T go there… found a noodle in our “GF” edamame plate and after asking the waiter, who we clearly explained the situation, asked for chefs to change gloves and make sure that everything was prepared with extra care and no cross-contamination issues, the manager came out to explain that it is because they share strainers with the noodles and the kitchen does cook certain things that can be cross-contaminated, something that itnis NOT EXPLAINED in the menu or from the server… 0 knowledge of what Celiac and cross contamination means… AVOID this place!

GF items are clearly marked in the menu. Waitress was well versed in what else can be modified and steered me away from items that are not marked or cannot be modified. Great food, drinks, and service.

Wait staff was wonderful and menu was clearly marked. They can make other roles not listed on the menu gluten-free if you ask. They have gf soy too! Everything was great and easy for my party of 5 where 4 are gf. I highly recommend making a reservation. We did our table is ready when we got here.

Been here 4 times. Last two the staff have been clueless about gluten free. I asked for a gluten free roll and was told I couldn’t have the cream cheese in it. Then the waitress said after sorry because she told the kitchen no dairy.....Then back today stated “we are gluten free so everything is GF” food was brought out and I again confirmed gluten free and the waitress told me “I put it in regular”. Confirmed again if the sushi had king crab or imitation crab and she communicated to the kitchen who said it’s not king crab, took the plate back then it ended up being made with king crab from the start. No confidence in this establishment any longer with a gluten intolerance. Not safe. Not trained.

Food was incredible. Menu is marked with the gluten free items. Try the rainbow roll!

I’m a super sensitive celiac and am always concerned about cross-contamination, but I had no reaction at all. Ordered miso soup, two i/o rolls and edamame. They provided gf soy sauce. Super happy to have had great sushi!
