Easy menu with lots of gluten free items. Our server, Amanda, was very knowledgeable and even went to double check with the head chef! My daughter loved her meal and she has Celiac disease so it's hard to eat out. We will come back to Pizza Luce for sure!
This was super GF friendly and the pasta was incredible. 100% recommend, and it was very easy to navigate through the menu
wife never had a reaction from their gf items. but last time she did. noticed menu changed a little...blue dog was her fav.
I've eaten brunch at this location several times and never had a problem. I ordered a GF pizza last Friday and had a very strong reaction. The box and my receipt are clearly labeled as GF. Not sure what happened here but this was the only thing I ate on Friday (except a banana) and I am positive this pizza is what caused my reaction.
best gluten free pizza!
Celiac friendly. Pizza and homemade dough was very good. Couldn't even tell it was gluten free. Brownie with ice cream, yum! The only down side... for the price wish there was more! Left still feeling a little hungry.
Spinach artichoke dip with gf ciabatta....to die for.
Excellent GF pizza
Great food for a non gluten eater or a gluten eater. All items are clearly labeled on their regular menu. No need to ask for special treatment! My daughter loves the GF shells.
awesome pizza! GF crust is best I have tasted. Check out the front cover of their GF menu...they are extremely knowledgable and accomodating...
Went to Pizza Luce for dinner and, when I explained that I was celiac, I was given a GF menu. I haven't eaten pizza in years because it always gave me heartburn. But with this recent celiac diagnosis and having to eat gluten free, I have not had any heartburn at all. So my wife and I each ordered a GF pizza and shared each other's choices. Tasted great and no heartburn at all afterwards! The GF pizzas are only 10" however and cost as much as a large pizza on the regular menu. I can't give 5 stars as a result, but I genuinely appreciate the restaurant's efforts. The GF foods are made in a separate part of the kitchen. We even had a flourless GF chocolate cake for dessert.
This place is Amazing! There were so many gluten-free menu options that I was absolutely in delight! I chose a gluten-free waffle with berries and ice cream on top and it was absolutely fabulous… Did not taste gluten free at all! My husband had a ham and brie omelette and it was fabulous! We are excited to return so we can try pizza which is what we originally came for.
We went here with such high hopes after reading the reviews, but my daughter, who has celiac, was up all night sick. She has had a cross contamination experience before and is not very sensitive, so something went very wrong here. Granted, it was a busy Saturday night, but with the reviews/ratings I'd certainly have expected more....
We went here with such high hopes for a gf experience for our daughter. Everything was delicious, but my daughter - who has celiac, was up all night sick (she is not sensitive and has had minor accidental exposures before and not gotten sick... So something went very wrong here.). Granted it's always a risk to eat out, especially on busy Saturday night, but with such high celiac friendly ratings I expected a better experience.
My sister recommended the Baked Potato pizza which sounds odd but is really the only way to eat pizza. It was to die for. I also had the bruschetta which was ok. The rolls were soft, warm and delicious but go against the idea of the crunchy toasted bruschetta. Everything was still great.
We used to eat here with no problems but the last 2 years we have gotten sick even time we have tried. I don't know if it's a lack of training or kitchen staff that just don't care but my daughter and I both have celiac and it's just not worth the chance. Bummer because it is good.
i have been told many times employees are specially trained to avoid cross contamination, however a friend who works there says many don't take it seriously. there is flour constantly in the air and often the ingredients are shared and contaminated by the flour on gloved hands. i have gotten gluten sick so many times from supposedly gluten free food i will never eat there again. they offer the awesome gluten free beer from st. oaul Burning Bros. Pyro Pale Ale but it is like $9, which you could go up the block and get a 4 pack for $2 more.
So many GF options to choose from! My daughter had the stuffed shells with cheese, something she has never had because you just can't find them GF. They were served with the softest GF dinner rolls she's ever had and a delicious Caesar salad. Knowledgeable server and no reactions by either my daughter or niece, both Celiacs.
This is the best GF pizza I have ever had. I got the appetizer sampler and the rolls where outstanding!! I have celiac spur and didn't have a reaction. Also the wait staff are extremely knowledge and informative about the GF options. I wish I had this in Indiana!!!
we had dinner last night. no cc or getting ill, so that's a big plus. however i was not impressed. the pizza crust was underbaked and I did not like it. i asked what the bruschetta was like for gf and what he described was the regular not gf so when the dish was brought out i was very disappointed and misled. then he incorrectly ordered a sausage pizza not pepperoni for my daughter. so then she had to wait for a new pizza. over all i was not happy for level of mistakes and price plus misinformation. i honestly can't say I'll be back.
They are very careful to avoid cross contamination. The GF brownie sundae was very good. I can't give 5 stars because the GF pizza crust, made by French Meadow, just isn't very good. Weird spongy texture. They do have a GF pasta dish which I haven't tried yet.
Delicious!!!! All three in our party tonight were gluten free with one of us being dairy free. So many choices. My husband has not had a dairy free pizza ever this great. Such a treat. Gluten free, dairy free, vegan and vegetarian options. If I could add more stars to my rating I would!!! :-)
I know they've been trained in methods of decreasing cross contamination but I definitely get sick from their food every time. I'm coming to terms with the fact that restaurants that work with so much flour are basically impossible to keep safe for celiacs unless they have a completely separate kitchen for gf food. I'll miss you baked potato pizza!
We have been wanting to try their GF pizza for awhile but the $18 price tag on a 10 in. crust had kept us at bay. We finally but the bullet and gave it try and while our salads were amazing, the gluten free pizza did not taste good at all. The crust was so soggy that it fell apart before you could get it in your mouth. They did give us half off the GF pizza but that didn't really help the fact that we had to eat cereal when we got home cause we were still hungry. Very disappointed.
They have a great tasting gluten free pizza crust and also had a decent amount of other gluten free menu options. The Molly bar brownie for dessert was also fabulous. the servers and chefs have a good understanding of what people woth gluten intolerance really need to avoid. As a tourist this is the best a I've had in the last few days, and the first one I feel confident I won't be "glutened" by!! Thanks Pizza Luce!
Not actually gluten-free. They use high gluten flour to make their regular pizzas. They coat the regular pizzas in more flour and they toss them in the air right next to where they are making your GF pizza. Then they throw those gluten encrusted pizzas in the same oven they use to bake your GF pizza. ( it is an air-impingement oven, it blows flour everywhere.) I tested one of their "GF" pizzas with a gluten testing kit, and it failed.( The crust where it was covered with toppings was fine, but the toppings exposed to air, and the bottom side of the crust were both contaminated.) Come november, when the GF foodservice laws go into effect, they will not be able to sell those pies as Gluten Free.
