Most things labeled GF have cross contamination. Our server was knowledgeable on how to make things. Disappointed that we ordered an app (potato taquitos) and as it was delivered they stated there was cross contamination…

Not safe for celiacs. This place marks GF items on their menu that aren’t truly gluten free (e.g. fried foods fried in a shared fryer). I ordered a carnitas bowl, specifying that I had a serious gluten allergy, and my Nima sensor found gluten. The manager said that they can’t guarantee that anything on their line isn’t cross-contaminated.

THE best Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to. Hands down. Top notch drinks and good. Had chips and guac and salsa. And then tacos. Most are GF. Bowls and other food too. Including dessert.

Chips are gluten free, they received them crispy in a bag and they warm them up, I was told that they aren't fried there and no cross contamination. I ate the carnitas and chicken tacos that tasted great. I didn't have issues afterwards.

A lot of items marked gluten free on the menu are not gf. For example, their flautas are fried in the same fryer as their breaded items. Also the ceviche has peanuts coated with flour. Both of these items on the menu were marked gf. Thankfully my server asked about my allergies and was able to guide me to select other items.

Celiac - no issues with the shrimp plate and they even had a dedicated fryer for chips! Server very knowledgeable.

Very knowledgeable server and many GF options. He knew the chips were fries offsite in a GF fryer. Tacos and guacamole were delicious!

They had enough GF taco options to make a meal out of and they were very good. A bit expensive for what it is.

Food was marked gluten-free but came out positive for gluten on my nima sensor with a strong red line in the back so probably more than just cross-contamination.

Margaritas were good but unfortunately my food (despite being clarified and marked gluten free for the kitchen) came out with a positive test for gluten on my Nima sensor.
No
Five stars because they are honest and work hard to make it work. Wish they made more tacos GF. Food available was bueno.
I appreciated that the manager came out to let us know that both she and the server were aware that we cannot have gluten and that they were taking precautions to avoid cross-contamination. Chips were GF. Tacos and margarita were delicious.

Yum! GF chips, salsa, guacamole and margaritas. Tacos are amazing. About half were GF. One of the managers is celiac so they know what they are doing.
Had fish tacos with a Cadillac margarita BEST EVER. Safe chips

Sorry, but I was 'glutoned'. Really not surprised as the kitchen is frenetic and they mix gluten with gluten free products. I'm very, very sensitive, so probably cross-contamination. Food was good though.

The food was amazing the staff knowledgable and friendly. Service was great and we went on Taco Tuesday!!

I had the swordfish (which was amazing) and it took a long time. The cook came out to explain they took so long to ensure they cleaned and cooked it properly and then apologized. Then comped it which they absolutely did not have to do. Really great experience.

Amazing amazing amazing amazing!!!!!! Food was out of this world good. Our service was outstanding and they even made custom order drinks (pineapple mojito vs reg one) which turned out to be the best I've ever had. Tacos are small street sized (kind of over priced) but the bowl only $2 more was a hearty size. Tons of GF options marked on the menu. Ate here with 3 diagnosed celiac people and all 3 were thrilled. Will be back for sure!

Very good. The pork and chicken GF tacos were delicious. Bring your non-GF friends, my vegetarian wife loved the cactus taco. You MUST get the velvet cake.
Gluten contamination in something very nasty reaction

I'm so glad I found this restaurant, thanks to Find Me Gluten Free App. It never seems to disappoint. They had many gluten free options. Their chips, salsas and guacamole are all fresh, made in house. Tacos are fresh, full of flavor and excitement. My favorite taco was Lamb Barbacoa. Their rice is really good too. Lots of choices of margaritas and different tequilas. I would greatly recommend. Also, make a reservation, as it's very popular, and tends to get crowded in the evening.

I discovered Puesto about a year ago, and now the restaurant has two locations in San Diego. The menu is clearly labeled with lots of gluten free options. They offer plenty of gluten free alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks too. Puesto especially has a large variety of tequila options. My personal must have drink each time I go to any Puesto location is the frozen horchata with cinnamon on top. I like to think of the frozen horchata drink as a Mexican Milkshake. It's absolutely delicious! If you'd like they can make it into a rum-chata by adding a shot or two of a rum of your choice.

wanted to eat at this restaurant, but no GF menu and host seemed very iffy on what would be possible, made me too nervous to eat there
Delicious and healthy and the server we had was knowledgeable and helpful about GF options (which were plenty!). Yum!
Amazing food and service. The gluten free options are endless. A must for gluten free in La Jolla!
super tasty!
The fresh corn tortillas are to die for. The GF options are labeled on the menu board and staff are knowledgeable. They will change their gloves without giving a funny look and make sure not to heat your tortillas on the grill. You can get the bowl and an order of tortillas if you want to create your own tacos. DELICIOUS!
