Red Bowl Asian Bistro

This has become my go to favorite place in Summerville. They have a gluten free menu and I have never gotten sick from here! The Singapore noodles or the shrimp and broccoli are my favorite! And the shrimp summer rolls are a must every time. Fantastic restaurant with a pretty large gluten free menu.

My husband and I both have celiacs. We got there right at 5:00, placed a gluten free to-go order in person. Restaurant was empty, and they still completely screwed up the order. They put imitation crab in the summer roll (which isn’t even supposed to have crab?), so it was not safely edible, and they served shrimp in my husband’s order of chicken. Eat at your own extreme risk

This place has a gluten free menu! The sesame chicken is really good! I’ve also had the fresh rolls, side salad with ranch, General T’so chicken and fried rice! Always delicious!

Staff are very knowledgeable about what is or isn't GF. They have a lot of options, including breaded chicken and shrimp (how often do you get that!) with some house made sauces. Ask for their GF menu; sushi, fried rice, entrees, more!

I am gluten intolerant. I’ve eaten here twice with no reaction. Devoted gluten free menu is great, the options are good and the portions are so generous. if you order the Vietnamese summer rolls they may bring you the wrong sauce, double check with your server that it’s either gluten free soy sauce or yum yum sauce. They brought me the wrong one but quickly fixed it

I don't know why I haven't written a review on this Red Bowl location before; we eat here all the time. The staff is friendly, the gluten free food is great and the price is reasonable. My celiac kids and I love the gf sesame chicken and the gf chicken and broccoli in white sauce. We've never gotten sick after eating here. I'm giving four stars because let's be honest, it's not haute cuisine worth a five star review, it's just good Americanized Chinese food...

Excellent gluten free selection. The gluten free fried rice was amazing. I had the General Taos chicken and it was amazing. I am gluten intolerant and had no problems.

Eating safely breaded chicken is always a treat! While my server was not the most knowledgeable about the food (I think she was new), she was very knowledgeable about needing to take precautions. Food was so good, I went back the next day for more before leaving the area.

Celiac friendly?

We tried this because I saw people posting on FB that they have a GF menu. My son has Celiac, and hasn’t been able to eat Chinese food for a year now. He loved the GF chicken and broccoli, and did not get sick at all!! We are excited to try more things. Also, all the other food that we ordered (non-GF) was delicious as well! We called in a to go order, and if you pull up to the curb, they have a big sign to call them and let them know you are there so they can bring the food out to you.

We have always loved the Red Bowl in Clemson, especially since GF Asian food in CHARLESTON is sparse. Happy to report the Red Bowl in Summerville is just as yummy as the one in Clemson. Lots of GF options and they are very knowledge and accommodating of allergies. Will be a new constant spot for us!
