Terrible service. They couldn't get their tablet with the allergy menu to work so I was told to use my phone. The server was not very knowledgeable and did not instill confidence that my meal would be gluten free. She said she would ask the chef my questions but never came back to the table until our order was ready. I was annoyed that she put the order in without checking with me first. I wouldn't have asked the questions if the answers didn't impact my order. The food was mediocre and I didn't feel great afterwards but I didn't get violently ill either. I would not go back again unless I talked directly to the manager or the chef.
I love the Tavern Double GF burger. Have not been sick after many times eating there.
I have eaten here twice without getting sick. However, last time I went I specifically ordered a GF burger but it came out on a regular bun. Luckily, I knew what the GF bun looked like and told our waitress. She was helpful and took it away. They cooked a completely new burger that was delicious. I did not get sick. Fries came out without the seasoning (if you order GF this is standard).
There was no menu (gf). When we asked at the restaurant for one, the server told us to go online. Our phones kept jumping to the mobile site and we could find the GF menu. I asked the hostess - she said, of course we have one. I'll find one and bring it to you. After about 15 minutes, she never showed up. When we asked again, she said - to check online... We asked for a manager who brought over an electronic tablet and he tried to pull it up. He eventually got it but it was different than their online one I had seen at home. He explained thy changed it... I had seen to order burgers without red robin seasoning - they had this seasoning on the table (didn't appear have gluten in it). The server took our order but forgot the cheese for the burger. When we asked for a piece of GF cheese, it came to the table full of black crumbs ( like someone had dirty gloves on) - not sure if these crumbs were GF or not. The manager had told us our food would arrive separately from everyone else's, but it did not - on the same tray as everyone else's. One of us got sick after this meal and one didn't. The silverware was dirty as were the salt and pepper shakers. Not a real good feeling about dining GF here again.
Nice they have a menu now. Fries are bland and unsalted, the burger bin was decent, and they gave some nice salad options.
I can't speak for celiac's, but for someone with gluten sensitivity, this is an excellent option. Staff cares about food sensitivities/allergies, and will let you look at an iPad or tablet to see what you can eat (mark which ingredient you wish to avoid).
Ate here 4 months ago got extremely sick as did my Mother in law. The restaurant was very dirty. Love Red Robin but after getting so sick I'm not going back. The Gluten-free buns are the worst. Extremely dry. The staff doesn't understand about cross contamination. Save your stomach.
While I was ordering my appetizer I made it very clear that I wanted the gf sweet potato fries to the server. When they came out, I started eating them trusting my server listened to me. Instead I come to fine mozzarella sticks mixed into them. Trying to explain this to the server that I'm now going to get sick over this, she told me that she didn't know they couldn't touch/about cross contamination. This is not my first experience with contamination here. Ordering a salad that you can have the blue cheese and crouton removed then having it served not once but twice with the contaminates on followed by them scraping it off like it's not a big deal had me speaking to the manger quite often. Why offer a specialized menu that you pride yourself in having without training your staff on what certain things contain??? I was very fortunate that my symptoms won't come straight away. I cannot image if someone had such a severe allergy that they would need an epi-pen than having your server use the excuse "I didn't know". Will not be visiting again anytime soon.
Multiple waiters caused me to get an answer to the question regarding if the chips served with the artichoke & spinach dip were gluten free or not. Since their online allergen list was down, I relied on the answer from one waitress who said they were. NOT! I got sick for 3 days. And my salad cane out with croutons but our waiter immediately sent it back. The manager brought it out with apologies and a promise that it was removed from my bill. Nice of her, but I won't be back. I'm not willing to get this sick again.
Honestly this was the worst Red Robin I've ever been to. Typically they have separate fryers nope not at this one. The waitress also told me she had bad Celiac, which honestly I have to completely doubt after she told me shared surfaces and fryers are totally fine for people with Celiac. I ended up having a wedgie burger which was fine but there wasn't any of the protein cup (I didn't get the gf bread) and the burger was way over cooked. Our waitress disappeared too so that didn't help either. Needless to say as much as I usually love Red Robin we won't be back.
Have been eating here for over a year with no problem but then on a celebration for a family birthday I found a piece of a chicken finger at the bottom of my refill fries that I have been told were gluten free when I informed my waitress who was horrified, told her manager. Manager did not handle it well, asked me if I would get sick, informed me that sometimes things get in their other fryer, and that his son is gluten intolerant so he knows how this goes. He finished his monologue with the simple statement that if I get sick please call them back later. Left me with no solution or anything. I did spend the next 36 hours very sick and in pain. Had to escalate this whole problem to the upper management and regional managers. Was never assured that the problem was fixed, will not eat here again.
Ordered a salad and made very clear I had an allergy and was not a life style choice. I had a fried onion straw hiding in my salad that I found after I had started eating. Told our waiter and his response was "My bad". And I had to tell him I wouldn't be paying for it, he didn't even offer to take it off our bill. We also wrote an email complaint and never heard anything back.
Excellent service every time we go. I even ordered the garlic parm fries to try once and a manager came out to let me know that while those are on the GF menu, he wanted me to know that the butter used is near other items in the kitchen, and he couldn't guarantee there wouldn't be cross contamination. I was floored. We've been back 10 times. I always get the same thing, but I'm never disappointed. Service is great, fries are great.. and do yourself a favor and get the gourmet cheeseburger with all toppings except relish, and then dip it in the sweet and spicy ketchup.. reminds me of a whopper!!!
There was a noodle (not gluten free) in my fries. If that weren't bad enough I think it fell in the "designated frier" contaminating all my fries. Plus staff was melancholy and slow. Did make sure to bring gluten free bun and fry in designated frier, but like I said, that wasn't so hot either.
Super helpful. They will give you an iPad with allergy lists and you can click on gluten or wheat and they will give you all the options. You can not have their yummy fry seasoning but you can have lots of their condiments from ranch to chipotle sauce. No campfire if you love it like me but I appreciated all the patience they had with my questions
Celiac review-I've never had a bad experience here. I love their lettuce wrap burgers!
I was their a few days ago. They are not Gluten free. They have no gluten free menu's. And the waitresses where very Un- knowledgeable. The only thing they have gluten free is buns. So I don't know how they can say they are gluten free, One thing is not a menu, and does not fall under the category of gluten free. I was very disappointed. And we sat their for almost an Hour before our waitress came to take our order. Was not impressed at all.
The waiter seemed very knowledgeable when I told him of my allergy, ordered a chili burger and 'replaced' the bun with a gluten free bun. However they either didn't replace the bun or the French fries/hamburger were cross contaminated. I feel so sick and I'm disappointed they didn't take the precautions necessary for their allergen menu.
While I love that they have a GF menu, 4out of 5 times I've ate there the burger was burnt, dry, and completely nasty. I go hoping to have a good meal and end up disappointed every time.
It was a good experience. Waitress knew what I was talking about. She did not put my order next to my companion's order. They had to give me an iPad to see what was gluten free on their menu. When I went to another RR location the screens at each table had that info on it. Not here. I had no issues and I am sensitive. So good to eat Fries out - without the seasoning. I noticed this time they state that cross contamination can occur with fries and burgers.
They are aware of celiac and offer gluten free buns that are pretty good. They also have a dedicated gluten free fryer. We'd eaten there many times until one night, the sweet potato fries arrived with a big hunk of breading in the middle of them. Our waitress called the manager out to show him and they did apologize and comped my meal, but it was too late. I'd eaten 3-4 fries before I noticed the breaking & ended up getting very sick :(
