Awesome place! Everything is GF..I had the cookies and cream in a waffle cone. I haven’t had anything like that in over 12 years. I’d give it 10 stars if I could!!!

I was so excited to get a gluten free waffle cone and cookies and cream ice cream and it did not disappoint! The cone was especially amazing!

Delicious!! Stumbled upon this little ice cream shop and found out they have gluten free waffle cones and cookie ice cream!! First time in 25 years that I was able to eat cookies and cream AND a waffle cone!

The waffle cones are GF here at Republic along with the cookies and cream flavor (both have guar gum if that’s ok for you). I also confirmed with the owner (who responded very promptly through website “contact us” link) at the time of this writing that the ice cream does NOT have carrageenan which is an ingredient that makes me as sick as gluten so that was a relief. My family came to Republic three times during our vacation this week (2 of us have celiac) and we never got sick. My celiac son had the waffle cones twice. Delicious, rich creamy ice cream! My favorite was the chocolate chocolate chip and the strawberry flavors.

The GF cookies and cream ice cream in the GF house-made waffle cone was INCREDIBLE. Pricey, but so worth it.

Visitor beware… today, no gluten free waffle cones. Which we only found out after standing in line for 20 minutes. Made a special trip to Sullivan’s Island, in traffic. Tried to call ahead but they didn’t answer their phones. Maybe because only one person was working. They also didn’t have their soft serve. Cake cones not gf. All Ice Cream is. Changed gloves for my daughter’s nut allergy and used new scoop. The flavor of the ice cream was fine, but of the three I sampled from my family, nothing wowed me.

This was worth every minute of the wait - gluten free waffle cone with gluten free cookies & cream ice cream!! I confirmed both were also but free and they were happy to wash the scoop and change gloves.

I visited today with my two daughters, one with celiac, and couldn’t be happier. To start, the entire facility is GF and anyone saying otherwise is just wrong. We all tried the waffle cones and really enjoyed them. It’s also the first time I’ve seen an ice cream shop offer them in small and large sizes, a nice touch. The strawberry ice cream had big chunks of fresh berries in it and was tasty. The chocolate was pretty sweet but nicely creamy. Everyone liked their various flavors.

Service was super nice as well. We will be visiting again soon.

Tiny portions, VERY PRICEY! No gf signs, but they do declare gluten in products.

The ice cream is delicious (I had mint chip) and they offer gluten free cones. The server washed her hands and a scoop without me asking when I requested a gluten free cone.

Staff was knowledgeable and kind. They offer Joy gf ice cream cones and the ice cream is all GF except for the cookies and cream... but they use the same scoop for everything. I wanted to order a butter pecan sundae, but was warned that that is right next to the cookies and cream so there was a major cross contamination. Staff recommended the soft serve if I wanted to be safe.

My husband order a soft serve sundae, but I didn’t bother.

We had read the great reviews and stopped in today with our celiac teen for a waffle cone and he unfortunately is now suffering from cross contamination symptoms after eating it. While they say the cones are gluten free, they aren’t careful with cross contamination.

I was skeptical of this place at first because the waffle cone looks and tastes too good to be gluten free. However, I have eaten here twice and it was all good! Some of the staff is knowledgeable while others are not. The waffle cone is AMAZING and all of the flavors are gluten free. Only concern about this place is possible cross contamination with other non gluten free cones, but they have the best gluten free ice cream cone I have had!

Ice cream is very good. No allergy scoops available and worker spoke broken English. Allegedly GF waffle bowls. Tasted great and my son did not get sick.

I am visiting Charleston and was SO EXCITED to have a gluten free cone. I ordered my daughter’s ice cream and then was asking about gluten free options for me (celiac). The girl behind the counter informed me just the waffle cones were GF (no problem!) and all flavors were. When I inquired about if they had a separate container for GF flavors she said they all are and I pointed out that she scooped my daughters into a cone that contains gluten. Her response was “yea, but I didn’t touch it”. So, use your judgement but the girl looked at me with a completely blank stare. It was disappointing.
