Service was excellent the server was knowledgeable about gluten allergies. They provided me with ample information that informed my choice. They explained that the kitchen uses disposable aluminum cooking sheets to prevent cross contamination. They also explained they do not have a gluten free dedicated oven. Although I was ok with their procedures did not feel pressure to order if I was uncomfortable as the server offered alternatives that had less potential risk for cross contamination.
I ordered the Spicy Hawaiian and it was overall very good. It had great toppings and excellent sauce. Honestly, one of the best gf crusts around. It’s cauliflower based but you cannot tell. The dough actually rose, so you had actual crust. Since becoming gluten free I’ve been searching for a great crust. Most gf crusts come frozen and are similar to bar pizza. This is the closest thing to a slice of North End pie that I’ve found.
The chef does keep a clean working area. The wood fired oven open to the dining room. The chef did take precautions to prevent cross contamination, changing gloves, using different utensils in prep.
If you have gluten sensitivity the pizza is the way to go here, but if you are celiac I would not recommend as they do not have a separate kitchen.
Gluten free tax: $3 up charge for the crust
