I went to this restaurant because the only dedicated gf restaurant in the area was closed. While the food was delicious, it was definitely not celiac safe. I asked if the gf waffle is cooked on a separate waffle iron and they said no. When asked what precautions they take to avoid cross contamination in sandwiches they said they put their bread on a piece of paper while roasting and assembling. There is no separate prep area and all the toppings and condiments are shared with gluten food so there is a high percentage of cross contamination. I did end up eating the breakfast sandwich I got and I definitely got sick from it. I would not recommend this place for people with celiac.

We have stayed in Hood River on our way to the coast the last two years. River Daze has treated us well! They have gluten free waffles and muffins plus gluten free bread for lunch and breakfast options. Daughter has celiacs and was very happy with the options. Online ordering makes pick up a breeze. Delicious food options for the rest of the family too.

Every thing is mixed together. The condiments and meat are from the same containers and bread crumbs are flying. I did not eat.

Yummy!! Had the pastrami hot sandwich, and it was delicious! Hearty sandwiches with super tasty GF bread. They also have $5 mimosas, which was a nice compliment to our early lunch. Would certainly return!
Can't wait to come back and try their gf waffles in the morning before they sell out! Celiac approved kitchen, they make their gf bread there and it was very soft and delicious and they have good breakfast options! (in addition to sandwiches galore)

Cool place, great sandwiches. Good lunch spot after a hike.

Awesome sandwiches on homemade GF bread. Possibly the best GF sliced bread I’ve had. Made a grilled cheese for my son in a separate area and pan. Also had some good looking muffins and a choco chip cookie.
GF bread was delicious! My daughter had a Turkey Melt that she said was great. The person taking the order at the counter was very knowledgeable about gf and added “celiac” to the order. They used a separate baking sheet for her sandwich. All of the non-gf sandwiches were terrific as well. I would have given 5 stars, but it did take awhile to get our food at this busy lunch hour. Also the gf sandwich came about 10 minutes after the rest of the sandwiches.
They make their own gluten free bread, which I thought was one of the best I have tasted. Sandwich selection was great. Soup was gluten free too. Very friendly staff and very helpful with menu options.
