Excellent Cuban food. Most of the menu can be made gf or is already gf. Heather and the staff here were all over it. Great food, super friendly, and in a cute area. Highly recommended.

Went here for dinner after reading all the great reviews and it did not disappoint! Got the sizzlin shrimp appetizer without the bread and that was definitely the best part of the meal. Then got the Bistec de Palomilla as my entree. They fried the plantains in a clean pan instead of the fryer to avoid cross contamination. Waiter was awesome and very accommodating. Mojitos were good too! Made with Bacardi Silver which is GF.

Holy F***balls Batman! This place is incredible! Best Yuca I have had hands down! Camarones Tostones? PHENOMENAL! The Mojito was also one of the best ever! Don't miss this place. I have Celiac and had zero reaction. Support this local business, it would be a tragedy to lose.

Excellent choice! (1) asked at hostess stand if there was GF menu, she said no bec nearly everything is or can be made GF and their kitchen very familiar with dealing with GF (2) our server came to our outdoor seating and when I asked she indicated that she is gluten intolerant and very comfortable advising on safe items for celiac (me) (3) the food was delicious and after an app plus two full plates of food, the total was only $41 plus tip. (Yes we tipped well bec I am SO grateful for well informed restaurants and servers!!!)
Side note: I also asked about nut free options for my kids (I plan to come Back with them sometime) and there isn’t a kids menu but they do offer basically half sized kids plates… and she said they do not use nut products in restaurant (not even frying oil)

First, the food is awesome. My delicious GF lunch consisted of Sizzling Shrimp and Ensalada de Avocado. My wife had a Cubano sandwich which she said was equal to the ones served in Ybor City. Second, the wait staff and the manager are keyed into the needs of those with Celiac Disease. Each can recommend if/how a menu item can be prepared GF. Eat here, this place is a real find!

The servers were well versed in the needs of gluten free customers and warned about potential cross contamination where relevant.
Almost all menu choices are gluten free, and the server pointed out the few that aren't.

Have been eating here for years and never had a problem. The staff is great and nearly everything is gf
Yes
Knowledgeable about cross-contamination. They can fry the plaintains separately. The food is consistently good. Wide range of options for GF. Their black beans are mouth-watering.

Had a delicious meal here. Staff was knowledgeable (fried plantains in separate fryer). It was a bonus that we were able to have our puppy with us too, out on the patio area. Would definitely go back.
Yes
The owner and staff are very knowledgeable about Celiac, gluten allergies and other food allergies. They will modify any item from the menu that they can. I have eaten here several times and have never had an issue. They are also very friendly and don’t make you feel like you are a huge imposition for your dietary requests.

The waitress was really knowledgeable about Celiac and GF. Almost the entire menu is GF friendly with some exceptions of course. Food was delicious!

I am glad that the previous reviewer took the time to review, since their menu doesn't list GF, we would've glanced past it.
Ask the host if they had any GF options and he took the time to say that they can make a lot of their dishes GF.
Spoke with the waitress and she walked me through the menu. I had a question about their hot sauce and the waitress seemed to disappear for a bit. Turns out they were trying to verify that the white distilled vinegar was GF. I appreciate the effort and the personal touch.
Had very good meals, but appetizer came after our meal, not the end of the world.
They pan fried the plantains, so they can be GF. All in all, very good food and helpful staff.
I would certainly return

Excellent Cuban food! The menu is not marked; however, the staff are knowledgeable about celiac disease/gluten and can tell you which dishes are safe. Many of the dishes are naturally gluten free, but you have to ask them to pan fry the plantains separately in order for them to be GF (they're usually cooked in a fryer which is contaminated with gluten). The flan is also a delicious GF dessert. I've had lots of good experiences here!
