I got glutened here, even though I very clearly stated that I had gluten intolerance to my server. I believe they gave me imitation krab after stating they would confirm with the kitchen that they could make the roll I ordered gluten free. The server was not at all confident or knowledgeable about their options for me.

Staff is knowledgeable and friendly and they can make special Celiac safe rolls, and provide gluten free soy sauce. Nigiri and sashimi are safe but the quality of the fish wasn’t very good.

Absolutely delicious and very fresh. Many sakes to try. Kinda slow service, plan to post up and relax! Eaten there twice and haven’t had reactions at all. They will do fresh blue crab in place of the fake crab usually used for California rolls etc for an extra $3. They do have gluten free soy sauce. You can eat there safely but you have to be in top of it. Specify and verify. The first server I had knew all about it and assured me the sushi chefs could modify anything sushi item on the menu, and that’s what happened. The second server seemed To be newer to the gf concept and had to be reminded about gf soy sauce and such, but was friendly and helpful. Good experience, it’s a staple for me now

Very attentive waiter when I told him I needed my dishes to be gluten free. He brought the sauces w gluten separate for my partner to enjoy and even comped one roll when we realized it wasn’t gluten free. Great service and very yummy rolls.

Chris, our server, was so knowledgeable on the menu and everything that could and could not be gluten free. They gave me Tamari in prepackaged containers and gave me my own wasabi and ginger. When he went to order he asked how many were gluten free at the table. I said only me (out of the 5 of us). Anytime I ordered, my sushi came out on a separate colored plate and he told me he always mentions it to the chefs to make sure everything is done safely. Overall wonderful experience.

Went here for dinner after seeing other positive gluten free reviews. Waiter initially seemed accommodating after discussing our celiac status but then only served normal (not GF!) soy sauce without alerting us, resulting in my husband eating the entire meal w gluten. Wouldn’t come here again.

I would say approximately 75% of the menu is marked as being gluten free or able to be gluten free upon request, and the servers are knowledgeable about gluten free and celiac, even taking the extra precaution to notify the chef and checking back with me to confirm
Available for takeout and delivery during COVID-19 and practicing extra safety precautions in preparation and pick up

CELIAC SAFE 😍😍😍 I've eaten here several times now and am always impressed by the gracious staff and their knowledge of celiac disease and proper cross contamination protocol. The food is superb, the service is swift and friendly. My go-to place for sushi in San Diego.

The staff were super nice and knowledgeable, lots of options, great tasting food and saki!
Delicious sushi! Very knowledgeable about the gluten free items. Highly recommend!
Sushi was delicious and I did not get sick. Also is a dairy free facility. They had a section the server pointed out to our group with sushi, sake, and kimchi.

nice and prepared, the chef of the sushi counter advised us on which plate we can or cannot take. Sushi is very tasty.

This is the only sushi restaurant in San Diego that doesn't prepare batter fried sushi therefore the cutting boards aren't contaminated. Gluten free tamari is available and chefs are knowledgable about cross contamination issues. The food is also fresh and delicious!

I can’t recommend this restaurant enough! When I informed our waiter that I have Celiac he was able to tell me exactly what was safe for me to order. I got the Saiko edamame (garlic and celery salt) and veggie rolls with goat cheese. They made my rolls on a fresh board and brought me some gluten free soy sauce! I felt just fine the next day, so I’m confident no cross-contamination occurred.

Spent tons of time and effort traveling to this place because of the ratings on this very app. Was informed that ALL the fish for the sashimi and sushi is pre-cut on unknown boards that MAY be cross-contaminated. Waitress was pretty flippant. Had to leave after ordering and they STILL charged for the drink that we couldn’t stay to drink.

They did not have a gluten free menu, but the staff was knowledgeable about gluten lurking in soy sauce, imitation crab, etc, and was able to point out gf options for us. We had the sashimi lunch special, spicy tuna roll, and avocado salmon roll. The fish was fresh and tender and everything was delicious. Highly recommend!

Servers are very knowledgeable of ingredients in their rolls. They can recommend gf rolls. Even educated me on ingredients used as fillers in rolls. The Kimchi is hot, spicy and delicious! Good place!
