Sandy Hook Diner

The previous review is in error. We just went there and the waitress told us they did NOT have a separate cooking area for gluten free preparations. They do have gluten free bread but no separate toaster. Definitely not ok for Celiacs.

Great GF Friendly Diner!! At first glance you might have your doubts, but as I was placing my order for Corn Beef Hash & Eggs, I voiced my concerns to the waitress. She told me that they have a separate area for cooking the GF food, as well as GF bread for toast. She further said that there were a number of their patrons who had allergies to various foods that they attempt to compensate for. The Corn Beef Hash was excellent, as was the GF toast. I didn't experience any problems afterwards. I returned the next day for another breakfast meal with another side of the hash. I did't inquire about their lunch or dinner options. The diner is old and nothing to attract you to enter, but the atmosphere was great as were the employees.
