Beautiful location and delicious food. As others have said, initially the menu looks to have minimal GF options at first. BUT they have their own GF bread and most of their meals can be made GF. Once alerted celiac, they even mark the order as such and take extra precautions to make the sandwich/meal. And GUYS! THEY HAVE HOLIDAILY BEER! HECK YES! This is in addition to all the delicious wines. This is a great place. I highly recommend it.

Eddie was wonderful! He made sure to tell me when things were 100% gluten free. They separated where they cook. They provided blankets as it was a bit chilly. I had the mandarin chicken salad, guacamole, and Arizona martini! Definitely come check it out. Food and atmosphere were fantastic!

Great variety for GF options! Mike served our son (celiac) what he said was “the best burger”. Really enjoyed the food and experience. Gluten free buns and bread are offered.

I may have missed something but only thing I saw as GF were salads. When our server showed up she told me about GF options and separate prep area. I had a burger which was good. I did not have a reaction- always a big win for me. The place is itty bitty and it was a rare rainy day there so atmosphere was iffy but understandable. I would recommend.

We decided to try this place out for dinner. I told the waitress I have celiac, she ensured me I was in good hands. She asked if I wanted anything on the menu as all but 2 items can be modified to be gluten free. I said I’d order the carne asade as is so it would be simple and she assured me she would let the chef know. Unfortunately after testing with my Nima, gluten was found. They were very apologetic but I left hungry. My husband enjoyed his meal.

Great experience! I had the chicken poblano sandwich and it was delicious! Our server let me know that all food for celiacs are prepped separately. I must say the GF roll was really good - soft and didn’t fall apart. They source those rolls from someone locally. I felt very safe and the food was great! Highly recommend!

Had the best experience here! Super friendly service and lovely, relaxing atmosphere. They have SO many gluten free options. The gluten free pancakes were hands down the BEST gluten free ones I've ever tasted!! Plus some delicious bacon and fantastic potatoes. All I had to do was let my server know that I had a gluten allergy and the kitchen prepared my meal safely and separately. Don't miss this gem in Sedona!!

Owner is celiac, so the team was very aware of cross-contact and how to safely modify options.
Tons of naturally gf options and all sandwiches can be made GF. I had the chicken salad on greens and an arnold Palmer with prickly pear lemonade- both were delicious

Food was good and we felt safe eating here! Got lunch - the turkey burger, a Ruben sandwich, and the blt-a. Everything was great but would not order the turkey burger again, was very average. The Ruben was the highlight! Will be back!

I had a wonderful experience! The chef was very kind and knew what he was doing. He brought out labels to show me ingredients. I ended up ordering the chunky chicken salad (natural chicken breast tossed with grapes, fresh dill, green onions, mayo & sour cream sprinkled with spiced pecans on a bed of organic spring mix with cucumbers) minus onions, mayo, sour cream, pecans. I also had a side of GF pita points. It was delicious and artfully presented. The atmosphere was cute and relaxing. I loved it all and really appreciate the extra care taken.

I have celiac disease and felt safe eating here. I got the Garden Pancakes for breakfast. The batter in the middle seamed a little undercooked, but they were still delicious. The outdoor seating atmosphere is really pleasant.

The food was terrible and overpriced. The only reason I didn’t give it a single star is because the atmosphere is very nice and I liked the outdoor seating. The reviews I had seen about this place lead me to believe it was a made by hand and/or locally sourced restaurant. If by that they mean that they used their hands to put the premade frozen patty on the grill and by locally sourced they mean they got their chips from a bag of lays from the grocery store; then yes it was “locally sourced”.
I ordered the Bistro Burger and asked them to sub the regular bun for a gluten free bun and the cheese for vegan cheese. When the burger came to the table it was 70% bun and the patty was identical to a cheap frozen premade patty from the grocery store. The side was supposed to be kettle chips but they looked and tasted exactly like lays potato chips. For this they charged me $23.50. Needless to say I had a reaction to this burger so something about it was not gluten free.
As an appetizer we ordered chips and guacamole and there was a solid/hard half of an avocado in the dip dish. Which meant that we only got a little bit of guac before unearthing this unripe rock taking up all the space. This cost us $14.
I don’t drink alcohol so I asked the server for a recommendation on a non alcoholic beverage, she wasn’t very helpful, then suggested I try the lemonade with prickly pear. When the drink arrived it had no flavor and was a disappointment for $4.
Lastly my husband ordered the vegan Reuben which I supposed to have vegan chick’n. It did, and it was a huge let down. It’s a manufactured prefrozen hunk of “not meat” that was flavorless for $17.
But like I said at least the seating area was decent.
We will not be back, and wish we could’ve gotten a refund on our experience.

Service was so-so overall, but seemed knowledgeable once she finally came to our table. One of my kids had the GF pancakes and was very happy with them. My daughter and I had a GF open veggie omelet and it was pretty good with roasted potatoes and fruit. My hubby had a regular glutenous quiche and was not impressed, but for GF options it was pretty good.

Lunch and dinner menus with gluten-free items, friendly people. Bought a gluten-free cranberry muffin, prepared on-site, and got very sick after eating it. Called the cafe the next day to inform them and was told the owner had eaten one for lunch and was fine. No apology. Not sure if there is a cross-contamination problem.
Lots of options! I had the Apple Gorgonzola salad and a GF beer. Everything was perfect. Awesome environment and great service.
Yes
Very good burger with gf bun for Minch with fruit cup. No side effects. Would go again.
Yes
No GF vegan items for lunch. Dirty place.
My son is on the autism spectrum I requested the gf pancakes without garnishes or anything on top. They brought the pancakes covered in powder sugar with fruit about and my son then Wouldn’t eat them. Then, they brought out one without, he still didn’t want it. My mother’s dish was cold as well. When the bill arrived they charged for everything including the extra pancake! Not very friendly or sympathetic to those with special need. They did not listen to restrictions. For a $60 breakfast this was very dissatisfying!
Limited GF menu. We were about to leave because there wasn’t much there I could eat. The waitress told me I could order the hamburger with a GF bun (it wasn’t marked as GF on the menu). She seemed very knowledgeable so I ordered one. Got sick after eating it. Not safe for Celiacs.

Our visit to the Secret Garden. Each visit is just the best. Celiac & dairy free, we had an amazing lunch. Our waitress was new and she was excellent and knowledgeable on what works. We highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Sue & Greg, AZ

Gluten free options for lunch are very minimal and service was poor
My 14 year old daughter has celiac, and hates ending up at restaurants where her only options are salads. So we were very pleasantly surprised to find this place that told us that basically, she could order any sandwich and they had gluten free bread, buns, and pita to substitute. Their special of the day was even a gluten free pasta that was really good. And my non g-free kids enjoyed it too - which is super unusual. Everyone was happy, and that's a big win for us.
Amazing GF pancakes!! Server was knowledgeable about celiac/gluten allergies.

Friendly, knowledgeable service. GF buns, bread, desserts. Grass fed beef. Tasty meals, good presentation.
Yes
Outstanding GF pancakes and peppered bacon. Yum!
We tried to have breakfast here after seeing that they had gluten free options and were very disappointed to find them closed on a Saturday at 10am. Their website says they serve breakfast 8-11am, so we are not sure why. It left us scrambling to find a place where I could eat.
Gluten free pancakes were very tasty. The cafe is quaint, the wait staff was very friendly and the service was good.
Yes
Best GF blueberry muffins! Wow! Gf pancakes and brownies are tops!
Service was terrible. Server came to our table to take our order and deliver our food, and then we never saw her again. My husband and I are both gluten intolerant - I ordered the pancakes, which were super dry and barely warm and came with super thin, burnt bacon. My husband had the croissant sandwich with a substitution of the gluten-free bread which was an extra $3. Our tab was $41, which I thought was pricey considering what we got. Super disappointed!
Yes
Adorable and inviting location. The cafe was able to accommodate ALL my allergy needs (gluten, soy, and dairy). We will definitely keep the Secret Garden Cafe on our list of places to return!
