Went at lunch time, ordered their BLT sandwich, with gluten-free bread, and was offered soup or salad as a starter. I asked if the soup was gluten-free as well, and the waiter was unsure but offered “maybe” and did not offer to confirm until I asked whether he could. Was offered chips and salsa as a side; the waiter suggested he was “pretty sure” those were gluten-free. The waiter did not return with confirmation about the soup, however, and the soup was delivered. The waitress who dropped it off also didn’t know whether it was gluten-free, and didn’t offer to confirm. I waited several more minutes until the original waiter returned, still without the answer; he left to confirm that the chip strips on top of the soup were likely contaminated in the fryer and offered to have the kitchen remake the soup. Many more minutes passed before a new soup was delivered, along with, finally, our drinks. At the end of the meal, my husband got an alert that our credit card had been charged twice, two different fees. When we asked the waiter, he shared he’d accidentally used our credit card for another table’s bill, but had then cancelled the charge. He would not otherwise have shared this information.

While there were many gluten-free options clearly listed on their menu (including pancakes, waffles, etc), their staff were unclear, and unmotivated to figure out, which of their other menu items were gluten-free and safe. The service was so concerning, and the presence of gluten so unclear, that I avoided eating most of my meal. My husband suggested we not return since it was such a stressful meal experience.
