I love going here, but ordering take out is a huge hit-or-miss. So, I’d suggest avoiding take out from here with the system they currently are working with! I only get the chicken fried rice and garlic broccoli when I order, and request for them to be made with gluten free ingredients only. I have never gotten sick eating their food, but I have had multiple times where I’ve gone to pick up a take-out order and it either is not labeled gluten free and mixed in with other orders. If I have called and asked which item was gluten free or needed help, they will always help and either re-make the item if they are not 100% sure, or help in some other way. Overall, I really like this place, but the experience in-restaurant is way more reliable and safe than take out. One of the waitresses, Jenny is awesome if you go in during the weekdays!! Just be careful with take out, double check ingredients with staff if anyone is unsure and go during the week as opposed to during the weekend(hibachi is very busy!) for the first time to talk over the menu. There is no gluten free menu, so you will likely need to talk over your order with staff if you’re looking to try something new!

I walked in and asked about gluten-free options. I was assured by the man up front that they could do the spicy salmon roll gluten free. He said it definitely would be, and they would just have to leave off the crunchy stuff. I ordered that to go and brought it home. I ate a piece, and when picking up the second piece, noticed that there was some crunchy stuff on the inside of the roll. I called the restaurant back, to ask if this was a rice crispy, or if there was a mistake? The woman on the phone said that the crispy stuff was not gluten free, and is made with flour. She then told me that the spicy salmon is not safe either, because the spicy sauce they use is also not gluten free. This is all after the original waiter assured me THREE different times, including when he handed me the order, that it was a gluten free order. They have no idea about gluten free and I will probably be horribly sick now after eating that. NOT FOR CELIAC AT ALL.

I have only ever ordered sushi rolls, but they are able to make some rolls GF and do have tamari for sauce if you ask for it. Make sure you verify when you get your food that you received GF tamari instead of regular soy sauce. I like that I can order online and add a note to say “please make gluten-free with gluten-free tamari.” I’ve done about a dozen pick up orders this way and have had success every time. Two times they forgot the tamari and gave me regular soy sauce in packets though and I noticed before eating that it didn’t seem like what they normally gave me, so that’s why I recommend checking every time. The tamari they have given me is in a little plastic condiment cup labeled GF.

I’ve eaten here numerous times without issue; however, I do stick to the same sushi-based options. The staff is familiar with celiac disease, careful to avoid cross contamination, and helpful in choosing gluten-free options.

I recommend this place. I told them I couldn’t have gluten so they made mine in the kitchen. No yum yum sauce as it’s made with regular soy sauce and no noodles.

Makes all GF dishes in the back kitchen so it does not cross contaminate with the Hibatchi. Can substitute GF Tamari sauce for fried rice and other dishes.
