Shutters

We live in the area and dine here, or take home, one a week. Dinners are always very good. Besides Shutters there is a Market building next to the pool area for eating by the pool or take away. They have a casual menu with 3 daily dinner entrees that include 2 sides, for $11.99! Whether you eat in the Shutters Restaurant or even the casual Market and you tell them you have a food allergy, the chef comes out to speak with you. You tell him what you’re interested in and chef advises on what he/she can do to accommodate. It’s a great experience and we’ve never been ill.

This place is a hit or miss depending on the chef that is working that day. First time I went, I spoke to a wonderful chef that brought me through entire buffet pointing out safe options and noting cc. She even made me my own eggs benedict on GF toast and brought me out a special dessert plate. Second visit, different chef and what a difference. He was clueless and basically just walked me through the buffet, literally just reading the labels at each station. ."This is pasta, this is salad, this is chicken.." You get the picture.. I wish I remembered the name of the first chef so I could call before going next time.

We went to the character brunch, chef came out and went over everything that was Gluten Free. Made us gluten free pancakes. Great experience!

We had Thanksgiving buffet. The chef came out and greeted us . Personally walked me through the gluten free items . He also made me separate GF entree and desserts. The waitress was very knowledgable as well.

We found the breakfast food and service to be horrible. Usually Disney does both right, or at least one or the other. Not this place. Breakfast took 100 min. GF options were very limited: toast and pancakes. The latter was tasteless. Eggs were cold and overlooked. No GF Mickey waffles! To end the meal, the waitress lied to us. Yes, lied, to cover a mistake. Long story, but in the end, we will definitely not return.

The chefs at this resort were amazing! They asked what I wanted and were usually able to provide a gluten free version with only a few modifications. I had 2 fish dinners, piña colada pancakes, and chicken fingers and French fries while I was there...all were safe and the staff was incredibly knowledgable. I definitely recommend!!
