Sickies Garage Burgers & Brews

Heard great reviews about Sickies from gluten-eating relatives and decided to stop while traveling through town. Called ahead for takeout and ordered a cheeseburger on GF bun with side salad, NO croutons. Picked up the meal and salad was covered in croutons. Explained to the server i needed a new salad, no croutons, and due to celiac disease, they couldn’t just take off the croutons. She was pleasant and understanding. Went to the back and shortly brought out a brand new salad, no croutons. It appeared new, not just croutons removed, so took it to the hotel and ate. Food tasted pretty good, gf bun wasn’t the worst I’ve had... salad was good. 2 bites left of salad: bit straight into a crouton! Now, 2 hours later I’m in the fetal position, pain all over, and all the symptoms of being glutened. The damage is done, nothing they can do, so all I can do is warn others not to eat at Sickies, unless you’re willing to be sick!! 😢

They offer a gluten free bun and freshly made chips. Both were excellent and I had no issues.

Great sports bar atmosphere with knowledgeable staff.

If I could give 0 stars I would! Sickies makes me SICK!!! Would not recommend, if you want to eat in this area right next door ( granite city brewery)!!!

They have amazing gluten free burger buns! They don’t fall apart like most gluten free breads. And they even have gluten free milk shakes with cereal that you can get with alcohol. It’s a refreshing thing to be able to get something fancy instead of plain old burger on a plate and chocolate milk shake. The service is also excellent. I didn’t have any problems after my meals there, leading me to believe they had safety measures in place for gluten free folks.

I had possibly the worst experience that I have ever had in a restaurant!!

It took over hour to be served the burger I ordered; when it came, it was on non gluten free bun….they rectified that but the burger was basically inedible, cooked to the consistency of the proverbial hockey puck. If you are celiac …Don’t eat here! If you are not celiac or gluten sensitive….Don’t eat here!
