I had heard great things about the gluten-free options at this restaurant, so as a celiac, I was excited to try it out. Unfortunately, my experience turned into an absolute disaster.

First, let’s talk about the valet parking situation. Brace yourself: they charge a whopping $60 for valet parking if you’re not taking out or dining in. Yes, you read that right. Be prepared to stop at the entrance to the parking lot and empty your wallet just to park your car. And the valet attendants? Well, they’re not just rude; they’re downright hostile. Apparently, paying customers are an inconvenience to them.

Now, onto the host. When my spouse arrived a few minutes after me, they were met with a full-blown interrogation. The host literally yelled, “Hey, where are you going?” The entire restaurant turned to stare, as if my spouse was a criminal fleeing the scene. After convincing her that we did, in fact, have a table, she reluctantly led my spouse to our seats, her face twisted in disdain.

But wait, it gets worse. Our server was the epitome of neglect. We sat there for a solid 10 minutes without a single acknowledgment. Not even a nod. It was as if we were invisible. Fed up, we abandoned the dining room and headed to the deli counter.

The counter person seemed promising, until I mentioned my gluten allergy. Their response? “Allergy? Oh, as soon as I take the bagel out of the package, it’s over. Nothing is gluten-free here.” Seriously? I get the risk of cross-contamination, but how hard is it to change gloves and use a clean workspace? Apparently, too hard for them. They flat-out refused.

For a supposedly landmark restaurant, this was an abysmal experience. I won’t be back. If you have a gluten allergy, steer clear—unless you enjoy playing Russian roulette with your health.

— Poor

Plenty of options with the GF plain or GF everything bagel. I had a takeaway pastrami everything bagel with cream cheese, and felt fine after.

I also dined in and had a pastrami, egg and cheese bagel (the one named after Joe Biden) - they didn’t include the hash browns in order to make it GF. I did have a mild reaction to this, but it wasn’t the reaction I’d get from a full blown glutening, and it could have been down to coffee or people I was eating with ordering non-GF food and me touching their bagels, so willing to give this place the benefit of the doubt and eat there again (because the bagels were delicious).

Food was amazing!!! I had the Strauss avocado toast. They said I can make any of the dishes gluten free but subbing the regular vegan for the gluten free bagels. Definitely eat here again!

Unfortunately, my experience wasn't that good. When asking at the counter about gluten free options, I was only told that there was a gluten free everything bagel and that I could have it as a bagel sandwich with anything on the menu. The bagel sandwich I finally chose tasted really nice but I felt uncomfortable eating it.. Fortunately it was OK and I didn't get sick

Gluten Free Bagels, Waffles, and tortillas. I got my Bagel toasted but I was warned there would be cross contamination. They have sandwiches too which I’m sure you could have on a gluten free bagel. The bagelwhich tasted great. The bagel itself was just ok, but the ingredients were great. The waffle was great though. I’ll be back to try something in the tortilla with a bagel on the side.

This place is like a NY Delicatessen & Bakery. Lots of choices on the menu for breakfast or lunch.
