I plan to reach out to the owner/manager to confirm a few things. I’d eaten here in the past so I had higher expectations. The menu was labeled. I got a meat platter. After asking multiple times which sauce was gf, I was eventually told none of them were and that I could use ketchup on my brisket. No thanks. The brisket was also terrible. About half of it was pure fat and another portion was burnt to a crisp. Very disappointed in the food overall, gluten free or not.

I had a good experience, but I only got a cider and a salad with brisket on top. The server was really nice about asking the kitchen questions.

Waitress appeared knowledgeable about celiac, menu was well labeled. She let me know about the shared fryer and didn’t serve me pickles (someone else mentioned those were in malt vinegar). The food was good, service was great. Unfortunately, I still did get sick afterwards which is how I do all my ratings :( Probably good/okay for the gluten sensitive/preference folks - not for celiac.

Food used to be the best BBQ in Southeastern Wisconsin. The quality has gone downhill since, but it is still very good BBQ for gluten-free. Very above average.

The ribs tasted so good! All BBQ sauces are gf too.

So unfortunately while my experience was good and I was very reassured that they were taking my Celiacs seriously. They served me pickles on my plate which I assumed would be ok based on the conversation I had. I got violently ill, come to find out the pickles were made with malt vinegar. Total bummer.

August 2019. Wife is celiac. Our waitress was knowledgeable, stated they would put something on plate to show a gluten allergy. As already stated all the meats are GF, as are the sauces at table. They have 2 sides, cole slaw and a vegetable that were GF as well. Had the pulled pork and wife had the chicken. Pork was excellent, chicken good albeit a little bland. Portions were small for the amount you pay. $15 per plate, and you only get your meat and 1 side. Wish they would have two smaller sides and cornbread included.

Great BBQ with gf options marked on the menu. Quick option if you need food in a hurry!

Great food! Knowledge about allergies and cross contamination. My son had pulled chicken with BBQ sauce and a baked potato! Highly recommend!
Great food! Best wings I have ever had, and the sauces were delicious. I will definitely come back the next time I am in town.

Needs more GF options, but some BBQ and greens make a delicious lunch or dinner. If GF, don't bother with brunch or expect variety
Yes
All their meats and sauces are gluten free, and a few of their side dishes are.

Amazing food easy to eat here gluten free. Sauces are not on the meat when it's served and all the meat is smoked at this location.
Gluten free options very limited. Staff didn't seem much aware of them either. I thought the ribs were WAY overpriced for the quality, very dry. Maybe I hit them on a bad night. Won't be back.

Clearly marked menu, friendly staff, great ambiance. Highly recommend the smoke shack salad! Will visit again when we're back in the area!
Menu clearly states if items are gluten free. All of their sauces and meats are gluten free. I had the pulled pork and brisket combo with slaw. I recommend the habanero sauce if you like heat.
Unique and amazing BBQ in Milwaukee's Historic 3rd Ward Gluten free options on menu! Really tasty
