I had an enchilada a la carte and a tinga (tomato based shredded chicken) taco!! I had a wonderful experience because everyone there was patient to run through their gluten free options. The waitress told me that all servers must properly understand their menu and they test them on it too. Anyway over all good experience!

Delicious meal! Fantastic chips and fresh salsa. I attached a photo of the main course, the El Vaquero.

Menu is not marked but the server was very knowledgeable about the items that could be gluten free and alerted the chef. They are aware of cross contamination.

Our favorite place to go for a celiac safe meal. Knowledgeable waitstaff are happy to guide you through gluten free options. Chips and done in a gluten free frier. Salsas are amazing and safe. I have celiac and I’ve eaten here a half dozen times and had no issues.

Incredibly impressed with this place and their dedication to safety for celiacs / gluten free folk!

Server informed us that they take a training as part of the hiring process where they have to test which dishes are gluten free. Most everything is GF and modifications can be made.

Each time I have gone the servers were very knowledgeable about which items were gluten-free and which were not or would ask the chef to double check. I have had their shrimp tacos, seafood enchiladas, and pork tacos. Everything was excellent. I have not gotten sick the 6 times I've eaten here. And as someone with Celiac disease that is very nice. I will continue to be their customer.

Our server has celiac!!! She is so knowledgeable and very cautious with my additional allergies. I ordered the filet mignon ranchero and the marinade contained gluten so I got them without and they were still excellent. I love filet mignon! The chips were addicting as well as the guacamole. 🤤 Apperently 80% of the menu is GF even though it’s not marked. Will be back to eat again!

The staff was super knowledgeable. They asked if gluten free was a preference or an allergy, and made note immediately. As info, there is gluten in the hottest salsa they bring out before you get your food.

So yummy!!! And so many GF options! The manager came over as soon as I said Celiac and took very good care of us. I’ll be returning soon.

This place was BOMB!! The waiter was super attentive and knew what Celiac is. He told me very few things would really be off limits but was happy to tell me what was. I got chicken enchiladas with street corn and refried beans and it was DELISH. I wish I wasn’t just on a work trip so that I could go here again. The chips aren’t cross contaminated so that was a treat. I was even able to get a margarita. The waiter wasn’t sure about the tequila in the margs so I just subbed Don Julio and I got the cucumber one since it was all fresh ingredients. High quality and very tasty food and you get a good amount of food for the price.

For a party of 9 to be seated within minutes of arrival was a great start to our mid-week family dinner. The staff was very knowledgeable to the gluten allergy for some at our table and even had one of the chefs bring out the gluten free food separate. The food was amazing. The service was amazing. Jordan, our server was amazing as well. When in Laguna Beach again, this restaurant is at the top of the list to visit.

For our anniversary, we visited Laguna to enjoy a day out. We realized that we didn't plan ahead for meals and panicked! We found South of Nick's and could not have been more satisfied!

The food is beyond compare, ambiance is great (fresh and lively), they have a fantastic bar, and the service is incredible!

South of Nick's was so accommodating and made sure my meal was prepared as carefully as possible to avoid cross contamination. The manager and servers were so knowledgeable and took all possible precautions to prevent cross contamination. They even went though the ingredients on sauces/seasonings to make sure they were safe! I had so many meal options I didn't know what to order first!

We practically licked the plates it was so good!

Everything: the rice, the beans, the salsa, guacamole, tacos, enchiladas...I could go on!

Delicious meal. Super duper knowledgeable server... highly attentive to questions I asked. I had the Chips and guacamole which were awesome. For my main, I did the seafood enchilada, which had lobster and shrimp. Very tasty! I’ll be back for sure.

I wish I could give this place 10 Stars! Staff is so knowledgeable!!! Our waiter guided us through the menu and was so well informed on what was safe and what was not. There was another waiter who was celiac who came to help as well. Chips are delicious and fried in a dedicated fryer. I can’t say enough good things about this place. First time we were able to say “celiac” instead of allergy and people knew exactly what we were talking about. We’ll be back on our next visit to beautiful Laguna Beach!

This place is amazing! Dedicated fryer for chips. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about salsas, sauces & marinades and answered all of my questions. I got a chicken enchilada and carnitas taco. The side options (rice, beans and street corn) are all GF.
