Sushi-Ko

The staff was not knowledgeable about gluten free options at all. I ordered a salad, the waiter told me it could be made gluten free. He then brought a plate of kale to the table, with nothing on it. When I asked why he didn’t tell me that it would have nothing on it when I ordered he said the kitchen didn’t know what gluten is.

The food was delicious but options were extremely slim. The server told me that the rice was safe (though I'm not sure now seeing older reviews) and had tamari available for sushi rolls. However, all the other sauces had gluten in them. The best part of the meal was passion fruit sorbet for dessert.

Very good fresh fish but sushi rice no longer an option for coeliacs. It contains wheat sake...

I was informed by staff that they make their sushi rice with glutinous vinegar. They could not tell me what type. I was skeptical of this and told them I would eat it at my own risk. I ordered things I knew to be typically gf safe (salmon, yellowtail, etc rolls with no sauce). I felt a little off for a few days afterward. It was my own fault, but definitely proceed at your own risk.
