It is important to note that the service Sweet Salt provide to those with Coeliac and other allergies is above most. However, on a couple occasions now, busy periods seem to be their Achilles' Heel.

Tonight we put in an online order at 6:10pm for pick up and did not leave the store with the order in our hands until 7:50pm. Just over a one and a half hour wait.

From a service perspective, they were kind but well understaffed and it is obvious that their processes need a review in terms of efficiency. I am all for the care given to make sure there is no cross contamination but there needs to be better understanding of their production times to give customers a better ETA.

The food was okay, not the best they have produced, and the potato cakes were more so overcooked batter than potato.

My advise is to stay away during times of high demand.

This place has such a cool vibe! It brings out the pride in eating gluten free while also acknowledging the difficulties of not being able to eat gluten, with thoughtful mantras on the walls. Super friendly and helpful staff.

Huge menu with lots of options! There’s a digital menu screen with photos of all the food (as well as a board on the wall with all clearly labelled allergens) so you can really see what you’re ordering. I found this awesome!

Our chips, potato cakes, fish pieces and dim sims were delicious!

Food took an hour for two bits of fish, chips and two drinks which is a bit ridiculous. They gave our drinks to the wrong table and when the person from the other table went up to try and give them back (he was waiting by the counter only to be ignored for a good 10 minutes), so he kindly came over and gave them to us. Service was just shocking and although I could see the owner was trying to be nice to everyone he comes across as a very strange person. Fish was very average and the chips were cold, hard and inedible. We were really looking forward to this meal after reading all of the reviews… it sounded very sought after and highly rated but it was far from that lol. There were a lot of unhappy customers tonight, I saw people walk out and not return due to being sick of waiting. If you’re so unstaffed and can handle the heat… close the doors, No one wants inedible food that you have a long wait for.

Delicious burger the best bread I’ve had in Australia my wife had the grilled salmon and was very well cooked all Coeliac approved and wouldn’t even bring mine and hers in the same tray to avoid cross contamination.

I have been to Sweet Salt many times. The staff are lovely & so friendly. They really look after you, Sweet Salt is fully accredited by the Coeliac Society & the food is just delicious. Best place to eat if you are gluten free.

Eat here regularly, the staff are great and they're coeliac accredited. Such a good variety to chose from, I'd recommend the salt and pepper calamari 🤤

My family and I come here quite often, the food here is great. Staff are very serious about cross-contamination, as the place is accredited by Coeliac Australia. They have a dedicated fryer and separate, colour coded utensils so staff know not to mix up the tools. They have such a wide range of gluten free options to choose from that it doesn't feel like you're limited at all. They have great fish, chips, potato cakes and dim sims. Tastes no different to eating normal fish and chips. Highly recommend.

Sweet Salt serves by far the best gluten-free burgers and fish & chips for miles around! Not to mention, they’re Coeliac association accredited, giving me a wonderful peace of mind when eating here. (Y’know, being a coeliac and all.)

I wouldn’t recommend passing on those deep fried Soft-Shell Crab and Barramundi burgers, nor those amazingly crunchy and fresh fish & chips!

Heck, don’t go past this place, period!

Further, the staff are often really accommodating and nice. I’m delighted to dine here every time! My only regret is not thinking of posting this review sooner.

Excellent coeliac-safe fish, chips, salads & more. I’ve eaten here pretty much weekly since being diagnosed in May 2017 with no ill effects and great blood results. Plus the owner and staff are really friendly and always have great tunes playing. Added bonus - high chairs and loo with a baby change table :-)
