Being celiac in a small town is hard. Because there aren't many options with restaurants to begin with, it's extremely depressing to not find good, gluten free options. Tamales does a good job especially if you let them know of your gluten allergy. Plus, the quick service and delicious food make a great combo!

This is a great place to eat! My family and I have been eating here for years. The service is extremely friendly and almost everything on the menu is gluten free. If you need a specific gluten free menu they have those as well. The food here is also great!
After reading other positive reviews, I decided to try TaMolly's on my way thru while traveling. I ordered the Chicken Fajitas and ate chips and salsa. The menu was clearly labeled with GF options, our server was friendly and attentive. The kids menu had plenty to choose from. This was a positive experience for me.
I was travelling in Paris, TX for a couple of days and needed a "safe" place to eat. I have a severe gluten/wheat allergy and have to be paranoid. I ate there twice, as it was the only real option. Other places in the area cater to the fad chasing I don't eat gluten types who eat gluten products. I did not get sick. My food was labelled specially to ensure it was GF. I got Fiesta plate day one and the fajita beef nachos the second. No issues at all. Thanks a bunch Tamolly's! FYI, the nachos paired well with a bottle of Barefoot pink moscato I got at Wal-Mart nearby. I never eat out until I am 100% sure it will be safe, otherwise I can risk disaster. If you have a severe problem, let them know and give it a shot. You get the regular menu with items that can be GF listed with a red GF. If you don't tell, they won't know and you get put in the regular pile. If you do tell, it gets a special label and preparations.
This is a GREAT food joint for Tex/Mex. Prices were good, staff was friendly and food was tasty. Additionally, they have a great gluten free menu and incredibly attentive staff that ensured I was confident in my choices and that my food was prepared with no cross contamination. The manager personally made my food and brought it to me. This was the most confident I have ever been eating in a non-GF establishment. I will definitely be back anytime I am in Shreveport.
wonder accommodating and great food. just let them know,ahead of time that it must be Gluten free and they have a dedicated prep area and fryer for gf food :) will definitely be back!
I have eaten here twice and had take-out once. My 11 yo celiac daughter was present this last week. I am gluten intolerant as well. We had a wonderful experience. No confusions! We asked several different members of wait staff about chips before eating them...and they were Gluten free. She loved her enchiladas and the cheese dip. Love the fact that the mark the gluten free meals with little marked tooth picks that say gluten free. Our take out was also marked gluten free on each container. We had no issues and she felt fine after eating there.
Finally, somewhere a gf person can eat a whole meal without leaving anything off! We were so excited when they launched the gluten free menu. Typically when dining out elsewhere, the gluten free options are very limited. Most restaurants' gluten free menu is grilled chicken or steak, hold the sauce... or a hamburger... hold the fries, hold the bun... steamed veggies... hold the seasoning. Definitely no replacement for the bread/appetizers everyone else chows down on while the gf person watches and waits on their food. Not here! Chips and salsa and queso are gf, and I can have a complete, full meal with nothing left off! My favorite is the pollo monterey.... Chicken, cheese, mushrooms, bell peppers, rice, refried beans, quac, plus the Chips and salsa.... Love being able to have the complete restaurant experience. Staff/management is very knowledgeable and I have always felt safe and comfortable dining here.
My son also has a soy allergy. Halfway through his plate of food, the manager rushed over to tell us that the cheese sauce on his enchiladas had soy in them. So my son got sick after all. They try but not hard enough. Very frustrating experience to get contaminated food after all our precautions.
I found them through the app while traveling on vacation. The restaurant was clean and the staff friendly. The regular menu designates which items were gluten free. I still notified them of my allergy to avoid cross contamination. I have a full wheat allergy, and had no reaction. I ate the "Fiesta" meal with chips and dip. It was all delicious. I would eat here again and recommend it to others with allergies.
Came here a couple weeks after finding out I was Gluten intolerant. Manager came over and served everything seperate from my friend (even wore gloves!), ensured my food was prepared in the gluten-free designated dishes, and even verified with me that the cooks had competely seperated my dish so there was no cross contamination-from the Bob's dip to my fajitas. VERY impressed!
Also one of my favorites! The first time I had eaten there after knowing I was gluten sensitive, the waiter didn't know all the answers but was very quick to find out. The do prepare the gf entrees in a designated area and is brought out separately from all other foods to keep from cross-contamination or any mix-ups. The chips are gf because they are made from corn. All the cheese dips are gf. However, if you order enchiladas do not get the sour cream sauce. I was told it was not gf. Can't wait to go back!

Love it!!! The staff is impressivley knowledgable. The managers top it off by personally delivering your meal. This store is inspiring; The enthusiam put forward to make the celiac feel assured they are Getting the real deal. Pollo Monterey is a must have!!!

If you have a bad experience, please let someone know! :-) Our experience was bad but I am hopeful. Hostess was surly. Staff seemed uninformed. Manager said that they sometimes fry GF foods with floury foods. However I contacted the NFCA and CC'ed TaMolly's. I received a personal email from Bob Strate in which he vowed to correct the problem (which may not have been actual failure of kitchen protocol but the manager's ignorance of it) and I know that NFCA is following up with them. I got emails from two folks at the NFCA and a personal phone call from one of them. I have renewed faith in GREAT Kitchens. I'm willing to believe that our experience was just a bump in the road and look forward to giving them another try. The chips are all we ate (based on a server's assurance; FWIW, they tasted good and were light and crunchy. What we learned from the manager led us to believe that they were likely cross-contaminated. One of the things that Bob assured us is that two out of their five fryers are dedicated gluten-free and 20 feet from the others. My 3-star rating reflects hope more than the actual experience and balances our initial, substantial disappointment with impressive response from corporate. Time will tell.
