The staff are knowledgeable about celiac and could point out items on the menu that could be made gluten free. My waiter took it very seriously and I felt confident they knew about cross contamination. They had gluten free pasta available that was very good! I got the rotini and sausage and it tasted amazing! I am symptomatic when I get glutened and felt completely fine after eating here. Would definitely come back, and recommend to others with celiac or who eat gluten free!

I was diagnosed with celiac disease in December ‘21 (less than a year ago). Just navigating this at home has been a real frustration, much less in the restaurant world (which is why I seldom dine out and try to limit dining to places praised in this app). I will admit I was dubious about Taverna even after reading a review here. However, having experienced it for a late Saturday lunch, I am a believer. While the offer a gluten free menu at DINNER, they do not at lunch. Still, Our server reassured me from the very first that they are well acquainted with gluten free perils and that they’d be sure whatever I selected would be prepared separately. I ordered arugula salad topped with grilled shrimp, baby mozzarella, cherry tomatoes. Server returned to our table to tell me the grill is not gluten safe, so if I wouldn’t mind, they’d prepare my shrimp in the oven. For dessert, it was obvious no options were gluten free except maybe for the gelato. Server told me that while their kitchen is gluten free, they couldn’t guarantee the gelato supplier was sensitive to cross contamination. Instead, I asked I their Irish coffee was gluten free. Server checked with bartender, who said it was, and that was my dessert. I realize many restaurants have kitchens that are way too small to accommodate celiac customers, but I truly appreciate the efforts that Taverna has made. They’re a wonderful role model for this. Our server could not have been kinder or more patient as I navigated their menu. Five stars happily awarded.

Staff is knowledgeable about which entrees and appetizers are gluten free or which can be modified. I’ve dined here twice and have not gotten sick. I ordered the beef brosato and it is delicious. The menu changes so call to see daily gf options.
