Winter 2020-2021 updates: Ate here many times over the winter season and their food is great and always delicious. Good for pad see ew, which u rarely find gf. But so expensive! Jeez!

Edit: visited again 8/19/19 and are coming again tomorrow! I’m from Chicago and their Gang Karee is better than any I’ve had there. Still safe for celiacs! Only the fryer is still not gf and they now use a marinade for their chicken satay that had oyster sauce. Instead I got a side of broccoli and ate it with the peanut sauce. They apparently have a celiac on staff. Some of the curries use shrimp paste that may contain gluten- be sure to ask your waiter about it all. They use gf soy sauce for almost everything. One side note that would bring this down to 4 stars if not for how good the food was is the service can be kind of bad. Today our food was brought to a different table, the waitress brought someone else’s food to us and then came back 5 minutes later to get it- my sister had already taken a bite, and they gave the dish to another table. Make sure that what you’re getting is what you ordered, and expect semi-slow service because the kitchen is pretty small.

1/4-19- Delicious Pad Thai and Gang Karee curry dish- both level 2 spice. I’m normally a level 3-4 kind of girl but the 2 on the curry was good because any spicier and it would’ve blocked the coconut flavor. Waitress and other staff were friendly and knowledgeable; the server asked if we were celiac before we could say and when I called prior to going, the hostess reassured me they would be able to accommodate us. Most of the dishes can be made gluten free because they use gluten free soy sauce, but their fryer is not gf. Pasta, noodle soups, rice, salad and curry are all viable and they were happy to substitute.

One important note though- this place is TINY and by tiny I mean it has a total of like 6 tables in a 10x15 space. The first time we tried to go, at 2 on a Sunday, the wait was 45 mins so we left. The second time, the wait was about 15 mins and there is a small enclosed patio with chairs and heat lamps to wait. They were happy to bring drinks while we waited, so knowing there was going to be a wait I brought a book and sat comfortably by the fire. Out of all the gf places to go in Jackson, I’d say this one is a must, especially if you’re staying in the village. We ate here 2 times over four days and ate the leftovers in between.
