I used to love this place, but the reports are accurate. They have a new chef, who is now using the fryer to fry their breaded chicken wings. So now all items the fried that were gluten-free on the menu, are now unsafe.

It always saddens me to see a restaurant go backwards. This place was a bastion for the GF community, and now We have lost one of our favorite little dive bars.

***** UDATE 10/12/2023 ****

The fryer is no longer GF and they have a new chef who does not care about that stuff - BUMMER

Their fryer is 100% GF! My celiac wife got the wings, fries and musubi which were all INCREDIBLE. I had the grilled Fish Sandwich with veggies as a side and I have to say it is BY FAR THE BEST FISH SANDO (GF without the bun) I have ever had. Seasoned perfectly on a brioche bun. The server was Super knowledgeable and very attentive. The vibe here is priceless. Great music and ambiance. Will come back again!!

Amazing drinks & atmosphere. Not a ton of gf food options but the spam musubi can be made GF and is delicious.

NO GF FRYER AS OF 11/28/2022

With that being said there were still a couple of items on the menu that were offered. Kitchen staff is very knowledgeable about what they can and cannot make gluten free and other allergens.

This is an amazing little bar and restaurant! They recently switched all fryers to dedicated and everything is gluten free except for burger buns and macaroni salad. Fries, fried chicken (in rice flour) are all gluten free! Plus drinks are strong :) I didn’t feel sick after this.

Update: I went here a second time and had a Thai Crunch salad, fries, spam musubi, fried chicken. I think somewhere I did get glutened because I did get sick this time. I would recommend some caution and inquiring. Their switch to all dedicated may have been too recent and there are still bumps in the road. That said, I’m a pretty sensitive celiac so someone less sensitive may fair better. I would go again but will be more diligent on cross contamination inquiries!
