On Wednesday, 11 July, I was glutened by this establishment.

I had eaten food from here a few times when I first moved (takeout burgers) and never got sick. However the first time I went and sat down to eat... It was a disaster. I clearly ordered gf food and stated that it was due to an allergy, NOT a preference. The server brought gf crackers—they have a whole cheese and crackers thing. I ordered a gf burger and fries (my normal) and I also ordered the gf brownie sundae, as I had been wanting to try it. I requested that the sundae be brought with my meal as my mom and I were pressed for time. An individual who was NOT my server brought out the food: my burger, my sundae, and my mom's chicken ceaser with croutons. I started eating my burger and fries. The person who brought the food (again, NOT my server) came out with another sundae and apologized, stating that he had accidentally brought out a NON-gf sundae. Well people make mistakes, whatever! I hadn't started eating the sundae yet, so phew, good catch! However that made me question the rest of my meal. I had taken a couple bites of burger, and when my server came back I asked her if she was sure it was a gf bun. She replied, "nope that does not look like it!" My server then got Scott, the man who brought out my food and corrected the sundae, and he came over. He is apparently the manager of this establishment. He said that the server did not put my gf food in the system—which I find ridiculous, because otherwise how did he know the sundae was supposed to be gf? He comped the meal, which honestly there was no question that that should have been done—why the f would I pay for food that was going to make me incredibly sick?? They did offer to remake it. I had to explain that I was going to be extremely ill, however it is not immediate, and I did not want anymore food that they had to offer. They did not really seem very concerned, even though I was very adamant that I was going to be extremely sick. I feel like they did not care because I did not get sick in front of them. If I had an anaphylactic response in front of them, it would have been a HUGE deal. But because I had to wait to see the horrific symptoms, they kind of brushed it off.

I would say eat here at your own risk. I think I had success with the takeout food because the hostess is the one who took my order over the phone. But I am mainly disgusted at their lack of empathy or sympathy about this issue. I did not feel that I could even speak to the manager about this because HE was the one who brought the food and HE was the one who blamed the server. So HE would not have been held accountable to anyone! So frustrated. Disgusting that they don't care about Celiac Disease or its repercussions.
