Review of The Counter

I had called the manager prior to arrival to make sure he felt confident they could serve my celiacness. He said to tell my waiter and they will take care of me. Upon sitting I asked for the gf menu and told my waiter he had celiac. He explained he would let the chef know. I ordered and asked if the sweet potato fries were cooked in different oil so I said ok. A few minutes later he told me the manager said he spoke to me and recommends I don't eat the fried food. It is different oil but there could be some splatter from the other grease. I said thank you and they took $3 off my bill.

I was just happy they thought it through and were willing to warn me vs just saying "eh, it will probably be fine"
