The Counter

Personally I would not eat here as a Celiac. I have asked before, and the buns and impossible burgers (contain gluten) are all grilled on the same space as the regular burgers. They seemed reluctant to clean for me. They do have other food options, and fries are in a dedicated fyer. However; with the high staff turn over, and lack of knowledge about allergens I have encountered here... I would go elsewhere if you are very sensitive.

Excellent restaurant for anyone with allergies or need to be gluten/dairy free. Lots of options, server was educated and responsive to questions and concerns. The meal was fresh and flavorful. We will visit whenever we are back in town.

I had called the manager prior to arrival to make sure he felt confident they could serve my celiacness. He said to tell my waiter and they will take care of me. Upon sitting I asked for the gf menu and told my waiter he had celiac. He explained he would let the chef know. I ordered and asked if the sweet potato fries were cooked in different oil so I said ok. A few minutes later he told me the manager said he spoke to me and recommends I don't eat the fried food. It is different oil but there could be some splatter from the other grease. I said thank you and they took $3 off my bill.

I was just happy they thought it through and were willing to warn me vs just saying "eh, it will probably be fine"

Good food with no cross contamination.

Ordered gluten free bun, and clearly received sourdough bread. When I complained I thought this wasn't gluten free, the waitress was rude and snippy at me and refused my table service the rest of the night. No compensation, nobody sent it back to the kitchen … there are many decent Counter locations nearby, this is not a good one.

Great GF food and great attention to making food for those with Celiac.

Chevin, one of the managers, really understands celiac and cross contamination. He helped us throw a party where half the guests were GF and everyone loved their meals! Service can be slow, but everything seems cooked to order so no complaining here. Now if they could start carrying buns from Zest I'd be a happy girl - I think they use Udi's in all of their locations.

Food was good, plenty of options and knowledgable staff. Service was a little off - I had to ask for my fries and they forgot my drink (I never got it, but I wasn't charged for it, at least).

Great burgers with the option of a gluten free bun and an allergy menu that lets you select a big variety of gluten free options for your burger. All their frys are gluten free and are cooked in a separate fryer from any breaded items. They are quite pricey for burgers but very tasty and where else can you get so many gluten free options that are also delicious. I've never had a reaction after eating here so they must be doing something right. Thanks!

The organic bison burger was fantastic and the shoe string fries are the BEST anywhere! Irregular burgers are great too, but the bison burger is also organic. The gluten-free buns are delicious. They are so good about accommodating gluten allergy. Love the selection on the menu and all the toppings. Super clean food and taste the best. Service was great oh and they dropped their prices a lot so it's much more reasonably priced than it used to be. They have a full bar and the vibe is great. It's a keeper.

Never had a reaction at this location. They have a gluten free menu and a dedicated fries fryer. You can make custom burgers and salads. Their gluten free buns aren’t the best, they fall apart easily, but it is pretty hard to find a safe burger joint so I don’t mind too much. Just place your order for a gluten allergy and make sure you double confirm everything will be cooked on clean/ separate surfaces.

Update 2024: The last 3 times I’ve eaten her or gotten to-go I have gotten sick so I won’t be coming back again. I’m not sure what changed as I order the same things and communicate the same needs/requests as before.

They are so amazing with celiac disease. Just let them know. They avoid contamination. They have a dedicated fryer that's on all the time now. Easily the safest burger you'll have.
