Got takeout for lunch. Had two great tuna sandwiches on GF bread. Upcharge for the bread but it was top notch and tasted fresh and homemade. Would recommend!

I went here just for the spudsters (garlic parmesan with paprika aioli) because a friend told me about them. They were so delicious and I wish I had gone at dinnertime so that I could have tried a meal as well. The waitress let me know that everything could be made gf and if I wanted to order just one meatball to try it, I could... I wasn't really hungry, but good to know for next time!

Delicious and safe . We were told there is no gluten flour used anywhere in restaurant. Gf/df buns , lots of options. Waitstaff very knowledgeable and reassuring . Will be my #1 place to stop any time we pass by/through Portsmouth!

The four or five spots directly in front of the restaurant are handicapped and 30 minute on street parking. Spots before the restaurant have a longer parking time limit.
We came here as two people with celiac disease and thought we would be safe from contamination because on reviews and the restaurant. We were sick for several days after and although gluten free bread was used, it was most certainly not safe.
Do not recommend this place.

I have eaten here twice and had great meals both times. Almost all the menu is GF. Dedicated frier so you can have fried food. Very educated staff. No concerns about cross contamination.

Had a wonderful experience. The staff was really knowledgeable. They said that the owner is gluten free and that because of that all of the dishes could be mad gf. We where also told that the non gluten free bread was the only thing containing gluten in the kitchen and that it is kept separate from all the other foods

Delicious food and we felt 100% safe from a gluten perspective. The wait staff was excellent and the Cin City margarita was great.

Ordered Cuban on gluten free, amazing! We also got the curry Turkey salad wrap on GF. I don’t suggest getting the cold sandwiches on gluten free bread unless you ask to have the bread grilled. It was hard and not very enjoyable. But the Turkey salad was delicious.

After a busy days’ activities, we wanted a casual dinner and the Kitchen exceeded our greatest expectations. The service was excellent, and the food outstanding. My daughter has celiac, and normally gluten free bread is mediocre at best, but she enjoyed 2 different types (a sandwich bread used for the Turkey Rachel and a bun used for the GLUTEN FREE meatball sub) which were the best she has ever had at a restaurant. They also have a dedicated fryer for gluten free items and we highly recommend the spudsters (so unique and delicious!) and Brussels sprouts. The server also indicated they would grill the gluten free sandwiches in a separate pan which was awesome. Our not-gluten free family members LOVED their sandwiches and everyone was happy. You MUST try this restaurant!

I was shopping in Kittery when I noticed this restaurant was in the area and gad a number of gluten free items and had some good reviews. It was a small restaurant and bar. Has a nice small outdoor area, but unfortunately due to rain, we ate inside.
Their menu said they could replace the panini, sandwich or burger rolls with GF bread, and they had gluten free pasta. When I asked the waitress if the appetizers were GF as well, she said almost the whole menu could be made gluten free. She said even the meatballs were made GF. She said that since they stopped making flatbreads, they are able to make pretty much everything GF. I was extremely happy and had the Meatball Diablo sandwich and started with their Spudsters, which had a variety of sauces and seasonings. Again, I was told all of them were GF. According to their menu, Spudsters are “Deep fried mashed potato cones, served with your choice of seasoning and house made dipping sauce. “. They were not French Fries, but I enjoyed them and I enjoyed the sandwich. I would plan on going there again next time I am in the area. Great food and service.

Can’t say enough good things about this place. Entire menu can be made gluten free and all fried food is already GF. I felt super safe, waiters clearly understood celiac and assured me I would be safe (owner is GF they said). Went back 3 days later because of how good it is. Some of the best food I’ve eaten - and my non-celiac family members agreed!! Wings, Apu burger, brussels, Krabby patty, meatballs, short rib grilled cheese all incredible.

Great food and drinks! Dog-friendly patio to boot.
I love The Kitchen! Their drinks are amazing and they are knowledgable about what alcohol is gf and how to make it. Their burger is my favorite and comes on gf bread. They also have pasta and other foods! The spudsters which are their version of fries are gf and so amazing!

I was assured that the fried brussel sprouts were made in a dedicated gf fryer when my only question was “are the fried brussel sprouts gluten free”? Right off the bat this made me feel very comfortable. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and reassuring.
I had a roast beef sand on gf bread which was fantastic! The homemade coleslaw was wonderful. The “spudsters” were unique and absolutely amazing. Serving sizes were large and we all left full.
Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I’m sure doing their jobs in the midst of the COVID 19 pandemic is not easy but you never would have known. Every part of our visit was handled professionally. All staff was wearing masks which was comforting in such a stressful time.

LOVED IT! True, I hadn’t eaten anything in days because of being glutened at another restaurant earlier in the week but so glad that my next meal was so amazingly delicious.
The spudsters were so amazing. I had a delicious sandwich on gluten free bread that actually tasted like something. My husband loved his gluten filled sandwich so they just know how to do bread.
Food was AMAZING! Staff very knowledgeable and even asked if I had Celiac. Takes a little longer because they clean area before making my food. The wings and spudsters were to die for! All food was yummy and the portions were great! The prices were very reasonable and I am highly recommending this restaurant to anyone who has Celiac!

Awesome gluten free bread and pasta. I got the Angelica with gf pasta and it was so good. Also got a turkey club to go was delicious and had gf fried tomatoes on it!!!! I have a nut allergy also and she walked right over and talked to the cook about my food to make sure it was safe. I have celiacs and it is one of the few places around Portsmouth I trust

Great place with great food everything there can be gluten free. Server informed me that they're 100% celiac friendly now with new fryers and everything! I love this place and will continue to come and bring new people.
Yes
many gluten-free options, however they admit to cross-contamination of their gf bread with regular. stick with pasta, potato, salad, fritatas and soup here and avoid having bread if Celiac.
Amazing menu and knowledgable staff. A great lunch spot for sure!!! While they do not have a GF fryer, the chef was able to tell me that the oil had been changed that morning and nothing with gluten had been cooked. He explained all the care they take not to cross contaminate food including separate utensils, work space, and not using the toaster.
Yes
Fantastic flavors, great prices, lunch and dinner. Informal setting. Nice staff. Most important these people understand that it is important to be careful with cross contamination!
