Didn't ever see a gluten free menu but the staff was very knowledgable of all the gf options they have...which are a lot. They can make any cheese gf and they even have gf BREAD! They also have a whole dessert plate with gf Rice Krispie treats, gf cake and gf brownies. It was a real treat! I had to share the pot with my non gf companions so they brought me my own bowl to put cheese and chocolate in. We were all able to cook our main courses together. Highly recommend this place for my fellow Celiacs!
100% gluten free now. Great food and desserts.
While the melting pot is one of my favorite restaurants, I will not be visiting this location. My husband called and made reservations and it was noted on our reservation that we needed gluten free menus and that my son had an allergy and needed to be seated as far away from te bar which allows smoking as possible. When we arrived, the hostess paid no regard to our previously discusses requests and tried to seat us directly next to the bar. When we asked for a different location, she was very irritated. She finally walked us to the back table after trying to seat us too close multiple times. Then she handed us regular menus. When we requested gluten free menus, she was even more irritated. She finally brought the Menus back and we were prepared to order...however, no wait staff had even so much as said hello. In fact, we waited so long to even be spoken to that we had time to get angry about the wait, look up the contact information for another restaurant, call said restaurant, speak to their kitchen manager about our allergies, and get up to leave before anyone even so much as looked twice at our table. Very poor service with no regard to serious allergies.
Dedicated gluten free menu, and knowledgeable waiter. I brought in my own gluten free bread precubed, and they provided me with fruit to dip into the chocolate fondue (instead of the cakes).
Had a fun tasty meal. I brought my own udi's baguette precubed. I should have brought some GF brownies, cookies, or cake. I think that the restaurant could offer some of these items, but at least u can bring it in. Only one burner per table for four, so everyone eating will have to eat gluten free!
I made a reservation here for my birthday knowing that Melting Pot's are notorious for being great with gluten free options and training of staff. Not the case at this location. I even noted IN THE RESERVATION I made that I had a gluten allergy but apparently that made no difference. Server was completely clueless. First they did not have any GF beer to make the cheese (ok not a biggie) then she brought out a bowl of regular bread for dipping. I explained AGAIN that I could not have bread anywhere near or in my fondue. I asked for the GF bread (listed on the menu), she said they didn't have any. I asked to speak the manager - 20 minutes later he shows up, he was very nice and did apologize for her ignorance, apparently she was new. Needless to say I spent the rest of the meal paranoid about everything and the service was terribly slow on top of all that & they were totally dead that night. Terrible experience for something I was looking so forward to for my birthday :( will not be back.
Maybe other locations in this chain are better, but I will not be returning to this one. Ever. The service was beyond slow and the server was not trained on GF. The GIG should revoke their mark from this location. Our dessert course was the regular plate of dippables, and our server was no where to be found to correct it. Very disappointed.
We had our reservations about everything listed as GF within the first few minutes. I ordered The Melting Pot Mule which was listed as GF. I had to run to the bar to have them change the vodka because it was supposed to be made with Stoli (which is made with wheat and rye). They were out of gluten free bread and brownies, but didn't tell us until we requested them. We were very clear from the beginning that I have Celiac. As for the special training for staff, I don't believe it. The server admitted to not knowing what gluten actually is.
I took my boyfriend to the Melting Pot for his birthday and we had a great time. The only complaint, which we caught, was when we ordered the dessert fondue, the waitress brought out a plate of gluten-filled desserts. We knew it didn't look right so we asked her about it. Even with the minor snafu, I'd go again. Definitely for the cheese and dessert fondues.
I've dined here several times. The staff is very accommodating. The gluten free menu is extensive. If you have problems with cross-contamination, you should make your entire party order from the gluten free menu. Everyone cooks their food in the same pot at the table. But, since almost everything is prepared at the table, you can see the ingredients being used.
San Antonio Melting Pot was SUPER about me being GF. I was the only one at a table of 7 and they made sure everything from my cheese course, to my main course, all the way to my dessert, was completely taken care of. Every time I tried to ask/remind our waitress about GF, she was always one step ahead of me. I was super impressed!!
My husband is gluten free and I've always loved the melting pot. We go here every year for my bday. However, on our most recent visit we were not as pleased. They decreased the amount of gluten free items. They used to offer gluten free loud cake/brownies for the chocolate fondue. No more! It was very disappointing. Will try a new place next year.
The waiter was not very knowledgable or accommodating. I told him about my dietary restriction and asked for a salad with no croutons. He brought me a salad with croutons. I told them, and they said they would fix it. I thought they did, but as I finished, I found a crouton on the bottom. My guess is they just picked off the croutons. I went with a large group and the waiter decided which items he wanted to make gluten-free (like cheeses) so be sure to tell him which one you want gluten-free! (I thought I did) If I go back, I will ask for a different waiter and make sure they know about my celiac! I might give it another chance because the food is SO GOOD!
I don't think you can find a better combination of GFree safety, fabulous food, incredible dining experience, and in my multiple visits to this location - caring and attentive waitstaff. They were very knowledgeable about ingredients. They have a separate GFree menu that includes bread and deadly desserts. Nice full bar and super wine list. My go-to place to celebrate.
I was concerned that my son and I would not have many options but my daughter wanted to go to the melting pot for her birthday. Wow was I wrong. They were so accommodating!!! We had 2 pots, one regular and one gluten free. They had gluten free bread and brownies. Staff was knowledgable about what items were gluten free. We had a great time and everyone still feels great.
This was a safe meal but that's about all I can say for this restaurant. Staff was extremely rude about my gluten free questions and made the experience stressful. Luckily I didn't end up getting sick. Cheese fondue was the best part because it came with good gf bread. The rest of the meal I could have skipped. Certainly not worth the expense. If I have to go back I will but it's not a place I would recommend.
Gluten free menu including desserts! YUM!
As long as you go in expecting to spend a pretty penny, you're good to go! There are plenty of GF options and they're all amazingly delicious. Also, the booth seating provides for a cozy/more private dining experience than being in the middle of everything! I loved going with my boyfriend and spending time to actually enjoy the food, the ambiance, and did I mention the food! The waiter was extremely friendly and knowledgable, very kind and helpful. Overall, a great dining experience!
One of the best dinners of my life! The staff was extremely well trained on cross contamination and ensured that I got a table with double burners so I could have a separate gluten free fondue pot to remain uncontaminated. Gluten free bread was served with the cheese fondue, and gluten free brownies and pound cake with the chocolate. Many of their entrees were also gfree, and everything was delicious. No sickness the day after. They also had an extensive gluten free cocktail menu and coffee menu! As it was my birthday, they brought me out a gluten free cupcake to end the night, and the manager came out and spoke to me personally to ensure I enjoyed my meal. His wife is also gluten free, so he makes sure to use high quality breads, etc. The brownies were delicious!
Excellent with gf options, even had dessert! Our waiter as also celiac and was very knowledgable!
They have a gluten free menu but staff was not very educated to it. Spent most of our evening for waiter to go ask if something was gluten free. Brought food to the table several times that he came back and removed because he realized it had gluten. Be careful.
Eaten here twice, never been glutened. The bread they use is local and really good. Even my non-gf friends are happy with it. For vegetarians, the entree options are very limited so I usually just do cheese and chocolate fondue. Servers are knowledgable about gluten.
My boyfriend surprised me with a wonderful dinner at The Melting Pot. We ordered all gluten free, and since everything is cooked at the table there is very little risk of cc. The staff was knowledgable and helpful. And the food was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back.
I went here for a girl's night with 3 other friends that were kind enough to eat gluten free with me, since you do share the same pot. They have a gluten free menu with a lot more selections than I anticipated. Even with the cheddar cheese fondue, they used corn starch instead of flour and gluten free beer! it tasted just as I remember from before I was diagnosed Celiac. Their gluten free bread is well, you know.. gluten free bread. But I didn't even care. Even for dessert, they have gluten free brownies, marshmallows, chocolate.. Everything was delicious and I did not get sick!
We stopped here for dessert fondue. I figured there would be only fruit for mine. So pleasantly surprised to have gluten free pound cakes and brownies. The brownies were great. The pound cake a bit dry. But I'm certainly not complaining because it was wonderful to have gluten free dessert!
Amazing staff!! Very knowledgeable about gf needs!! No cross contamination at all!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Great and knowledgeable staff. Manager came out to speak with me. I got my own pot, since my nd and his parents are not gluten free. best part as usual is the cheese and chocolate fondue. I was so excited to learn they offered gluten free bread and brownies. it was such a great experience.
It was the first day for my waitress but she asked everything about celiac to the manager. He came and checked on me also. They have a gluten free menu and everything is prepared by you or the waitress at the table so you can make sure it is done correctly. It is an experience not to be missed! They even had a gluten free brownie and cupcake for my birthday although this was not on the menu.
