Review

We came here with high hopes based on other reviews. The menu does have gluten free options annotated. The waitress indicated that the gluten free pizza would be cooked in a separate toaster-type oven which is good. The waitress was kind and patient with our questions, but was not very knowledgeable about the restaurant's gluten free options. When we asked, she did confirm that the sauce ladle comes in contact with regular gluten pizza crusts as the sauce is spread onto the crust. She was unsure if they would be willing to pull a fresh, uncontaminated container of sauce for us and seemed unwilling to find out. She also said that dough pretty much comes in contact with everything and recommended not eating any of it if we were sensitive to cross contamination. We ended up ordering salads that were marked on the menu as gluten free. It was not clear which salad dressings were gluten free. The waitress said she didn't know which ones were okay and that the manager had not shared this information. She did bring out the packet of ranch mix they use to make their ranch dressing and the jug of balsamic vinaigrette so we could assess them ourselves. The ranch mix was loaded with red flag ingredients and made no GF claims. The bottle of vinaigrette was labeled gluten free. I do not fault the waitress for the experience we had. I believe the manager needs to provide proper training for the wait staff so they are more knowledgeable about the restaurant's options and processes, and also how to approach guests with allergies/diet concerns.
