Live by the Mule for years and always loved it. Once they did accidentally give me non gluten free bread on a to go order, but luckily I caught it before eating it and they refunded my meal and replaced it with the proper bread. Their tomato basil soup is one of my favorites

I got a turkey sandwhich on gf bread with a side of fruit. They brought my the wrong tray first(that wasn’t gluten free) but it had fries which are beer battered so I let them know and they gave me the right meal. About half way through my meal I noticed white powdered stuff on my strawberries and they said it was “sugar” even though it was powdery and said that there’s close contact with flour in the kitchen….even after telling them it was an allergy. Bad reaction not even 2 hours later. Picture shown of strawberries.

The waitress appeared to be knowledgeable about the gluten free options and made sure no croutons or dressing were on my salad but unfortunately whoever made my sandwich put the wrong bread on it and it was not gluten free, it was delicious yet poisonous to my insides, and I got home and sadly spent the rest of my night getting sick in the bathroom.

Went to The Mule for lunch today. Our waitress was able to tell me which sandies and sides were safe for patrons with Celiac. Had the Fancy Pants sandy on gluten-free bread along with the tomato soup side. The sandwich was fantastic! We will definitely be going back and trying the other items on the menu.

I had the herbivore on gf bread and it was absolutely phenomenal!! I had a party of 6, and literally everything they got was delicious! I also had the seasonal side of the quinoa and strawberry salad that was pretty tasty too. Our server was great and they made sure it was cooked separately and took all of my necessary precautions!

Was able to get a sandwich and my server was knowledgeable and willing to ask the kitchen staff questions. I was unable to get bacon because it could be cross contaminated. Definitely felt safe eating here

I'm not Celiac just gluten sensitive, but I appreciate this site so much to help me decide on safe places to eat! I got the turkey sandwich with gf bread and the tomato soup, it was delicious!! I also had gf beer which wasn't bad but the label does say possibly contains gluten, so beware if that's a biggie for you.

The sandwiches are fantastic! Unfortunately you can't have the fries (if celiac, due to fryer cross-contamination). I had the turkey, added an egg... the best sandwich I've experienced in a long time. They also have a vegan cheese option.

I'm in OKC to visit my sister, and I have Celiac. This place is excellent! Celiac friendly! They have a separate toaster for gluten free bread! My husband got the portacaloosa and I got the fancy pants both gluten free bread and we both had half of both. Sooooo good! I didn't get sick! Loved it! Highly recommend!

Totally agree with Lisa on this if you are gluten free because of a allergy or celiac do not take the chance. The food was really good, but I am so sick now. Do not eat here if you have celiac! My waitress was very nice and knew what I was talking about, but she wasn't the one cooking.

I have Celiac disease, visiting OKC for a competition and a friend brought me here! the server knew what was up and alerted the kitchen staff to my situation. I got the Caprese sandwich and the tomato soup. Both were delicious. I ate it just a bit ago, but I haven't had a reaction yet and I am fairly sensitive. the only thing about it was that the bread was toasted and I didn't know under what circumstances it was. Make sure you ask!

Very unique sandwiches, with AMAZING GLUTEN FREE BREAD!!!! They also have great sides, and will inform you if something you picked has gluten in it so you can pick something else. They are super accommodating and just have the freshest ingredients! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! I would eat here every day if I could :)

If you are eating GF to be trendy or to lose weight I would give The Mule a higher rating. If you have to eat GF due to Celiac Disease and/or get very sick from eating gluten then steer clear. The kitchen is very small and being a a sandwich place that offers GF bread leaves CC a huge issue. After asking the extremely rude waitress who had no knowledge of any items on the menu or any of the cooking conditions I spoke with a manager. He did indicate that they could cook her sandwich on top of foil but was honest enough to say that CC is a strong risk in their kitchen. Not wanting my daughter to have a reaction we ordered her a salad. If you are sensitive to gluten or have CD find someplace else to eat. . .this isn't for you. I honestly can't say enough about how horrible our waitress was either. My husband and I thought we were in the midst of being punked . . .it was crazy.

This is a great place to go with a group of people who don't have diet restrictions. You seriously can't go wrong with any sandwich here (although a few have gravy and other no nos, so read the descriptions before you order). My favorite sandwich is the Fancy Pants. I've never had a problem eating here.

The only drawback is that the GF bread they offer is the typical smaller white bread and it's $2 extra. I gladly pay it though because it's worth it to be able to eat delicious sandwiches like everyone else.

A trendy new age little cafe where you can find a menu filled with select and choice options that's will exceed your expectations. Gluten free bread was soft and lightly toasted, making any sandwich selection a good decision.
