People with celiac disease should be careful about eating here. I gave my server the usual spiel about being gluten free and avoiding cross-contamination. She didn’t really respond, but I thought I saw her mark down my order with “gf.”
When she brought me my waffles, I asked if they were gluten free. She said no and asked if I wanted gluten free ones. I said yes and asked if my eggs, bacon, and hash browns were gluten free. She said that these items couldn’t be made gluten free, which I found puzzling since they are naturally gluten free.
I asked for the manager, and he told me the eggs and bacon were gluten free, but hash browns were made on the same surface as French toast. I asked for a new order.
Ultimately, things turned out fine, but it was a close call. Also, the food didn’t taste great; they were leaning pretty hard on salt, oil, and sugar to make up for so-so ingredients.
I think you’d probably be fine ordering waffles and pancakes here, but you need to be careful and maybe talk to the manager first. The staff should be better trained on what it means when people ask for something gluten free.

Staff was knowledgeable and the manager came out to clarify our restrictions and explain what the kitchen could do. They really seemed to get it. I had an egg-white veggie omelet with side of gf pancakes. Enough for two meals! Did not get sick, nor did gf/df husband. One note for nf - they use peanut oil in many items but my daughter was able to find options and had no problems.

I have had their gf pancakes many times and am so grateful for this option. Never had a bad experience. Even afterwards.

Many Original Pancake House locations offer gluten free pancakes. Please speak to your server about taking the proper precautions to prevent cross contamination, if necessary.
No! Clueless, don't eat here. They wouldn't answer questions/concerns. Brought wrong food multiple times.

Amazing gluten free pancakes. I order the banana and ask for chocolate chips. Heaven.

Got sick from the veggie sausages and it was completely awful. Not gluten free friendly.
The gluten-free pancakes were solid and appreciated. They have fresh blueberry syrup also which was terrific.

OK here's my honest review going to the Original Pancake House with Celiac. They have several gluten free options, which is super cool. They can make any pancake gluten free, however, I have no idea what ingredients are in their add ons for pancakes and honestly I'm not sure the wait staff fully knows either. Due to that lack of confidence, I ordered plain GF pancakes. They tasted excellent and I highly recommend. The caveat is how sensitive are you and how willing are you to take a legit chance in potentially getting glutened? They do cook the pancakes on a separate griddle, but they use the same cooking utensil as regular pancakes, so the potential is there for cross contamination. I would avoid the waffles because they are cooked in the same waffle iron. I took a chance on the pancakes and I think I will be safe. I would stay away from ANY sides as they are cooked on the same griddled as the gluten foods. If I get glutened I am confident it is because I did not ask the right questions related to meat prep BEFORE I took a bite of the ham I ordered. So if you decide to roll the dice on this one and hope against hope because you just want to have a "normal" meal out with your family because celiac is HARD, I would recommend sticking with straight up GF plain pancakes. Hope that helps you all! Have a good day!
