I think in general this is a safe place to eat with the caveat that your experience depends heavily on the waitstaff you get. I let our waitress know I have celiac disease and cannot eat gluten. I could tell my waitress was not familiar with what this meant so I was immediately uneasy. I asked her to verify if the Chorizo Scrambler was gluten free. She came back saying it was so that is what I ordered. I insisted that she add that I needed it GF on the ticket, which she eventually did.
The cook came out to let me know he couldn't verify that the Chorizo was actually GF and asked why I was asking for GF. I told him I had celiac disease and he said I needed to order something else. I got the GF pancakes which were good. But had I not advocated for myself it could have been a bad scenario because the waitress clearly never checked when I asked before ordering, putting my health at risk.

GF is not on the menu but they can make anything GF. They have a separate griddle for making GF pancakes and a separate area in the kitchen. All great and I didn't get sick.

Many Original Pancake House locations offer gluten free pancakes. Please speak to your server about taking the proper precautions to prevent cross contamination, if necessary.
Delicious bacon pancakes! GF wasn’t on the menu, but my waitress was very knowledgeable about what could be made GF and also let me know about their dedicated cooking area for their GF pancakes. It was delicious and I felt great afterwards!

I just went to this location on Monday and had a phenomenal experience. While the building is a little out dated and they only accept cash or check, the food was delicious. They don’t have a gluten free menu but I communicated with my waitress and she had a friend with celiacs so she knew the seriousness of the allergy. She stated they have a gluten free batter and a dedicated grilling area for the pancakes. You can add chocolate chips, blueberries, or any simple mix ins; you just have to ask. I got the Western Omelette which was made with four eggs and huge and it also came with a side of three pancakes. I forgot how much I loved pancakes, and I’m just waiting to go back!

Got sick from the veggie sausages and it was completely awful. Not gluten free friendly.
The gluten-free pancakes were solid and appreciated. They have fresh blueberry syrup also which was terrific.

OK here's my honest review going to the Original Pancake House with Celiac. They have several gluten free options, which is super cool. They can make any pancake gluten free, however, I have no idea what ingredients are in their add ons for pancakes and honestly I'm not sure the wait staff fully knows either. Due to that lack of confidence, I ordered plain GF pancakes. They tasted excellent and I highly recommend. The caveat is how sensitive are you and how willing are you to take a legit chance in potentially getting glutened? They do cook the pancakes on a separate griddle, but they use the same cooking utensil as regular pancakes, so the potential is there for cross contamination. I would avoid the waffles because they are cooked in the same waffle iron. I took a chance on the pancakes and I think I will be safe. I would stay away from ANY sides as they are cooked on the same griddled as the gluten foods. If I get glutened I am confident it is because I did not ask the right questions related to meat prep BEFORE I took a bite of the ham I ordered. So if you decide to roll the dice on this one and hope against hope because you just want to have a "normal" meal out with your family because celiac is HARD, I would recommend sticking with straight up GF plain pancakes. Hope that helps you all! Have a good day!
