I've ordered via app and eaten here on person a few times since my diagnosis and haven't had an issue. Their menu markings are a bit odd in that the main meal items that are already gluten free do not have the mark for "can be made gluten free" even though the sides are usually pancakes or toast. This makes options that are normally safe (bacon and eggs, Northwoods hash browns, corned beef hash) look like they aren't safe for some reason. GF food comes out on solid colored plates and the servers are great to work with.

Be aware... Normally love this place for gluten free pancake options. Been going for years without a problem. They do serve gluten free options on RED plates for safety. But no system is free from human error. I went on a busy Sunday service and ate the gluten free pancakes which arrived on a RED plate. Beware, regular pancakes are thicker and more dense at this restaurant. I had blind faith and wasn't paying attention as this has been a safe place for me for years. Immediately after finishing meal, I realized what I ate. It wasn't a minor cross contamination issue, I ate 2 pancakes that were clearly not gluten free. The texture was dense, pancakes were way thicker than normal. A reminder to all who suffer with celiac or severe food allergies, be hyper aware of what is being served to you. I wish I had. Needed asthma inhaler that I hadn't used in months right after leaving restaurant. Ended up in bed all day with cramping and GI pain. Don't be afraid to question your server or managers if something doesn't look right.

My son had incredible gluten free bacon pancakes. He devoured them. When we ordered, the waitress told us that they serve GF pancakes on red plates, so if a different color was brought, do not accept. Server was great and knowledgeable.

Many Original Pancake House locations offer gluten free pancakes. Please speak to your server about taking the proper precautions to prevent cross contamination, if necessary.

Staff is extremely knowledgeable on what is and what is not gluten free - asked me if it were an allergy or preference and when I told her allergy she took extra precaution. They even bring the toast out on a red plate rather then white, I was told if it does not come out on a red plate do not eat it.
Food was extremely delicious, omelettes are MASSIVE - could easily feed 2 people. Can make pancakes and waffles GF. I will definitely be going back!

I visited this location for the first time but when I ordered my GF meal, cook came out to tell me that they can’t make any promises on cross-contamination. I appreciated the honesty but also confused because the other locations I have visited seemed pretty confident about this. He did tell me he would be as careful as possible. All was ok, but made me nervous.
We eat here every Sunday. I have never gotten sick and the food is so dang good.

This is a favorite meeting place. The Edina location is our favorite, but thrilled to have one closer in Burnsville now too. Apple crepes, blueberry ricotta crepes, OPH omelet, turkey burger and breakfast ribs are some of our favorites.

Delicious GF pancakes! The options for GF are many, and the portions are large. Can't wait to go back.
Several people at the restaurant have Celiacs, so they know how to keep our food safe to eat. Great pancakes!

Got sick from the veggie sausages and it was completely awful. Not gluten free friendly.
The gluten-free pancakes were solid and appreciated. They have fresh blueberry syrup also which was terrific.

OK here's my honest review going to the Original Pancake House with Celiac. They have several gluten free options, which is super cool. They can make any pancake gluten free, however, I have no idea what ingredients are in their add ons for pancakes and honestly I'm not sure the wait staff fully knows either. Due to that lack of confidence, I ordered plain GF pancakes. They tasted excellent and I highly recommend. The caveat is how sensitive are you and how willing are you to take a legit chance in potentially getting glutened? They do cook the pancakes on a separate griddle, but they use the same cooking utensil as regular pancakes, so the potential is there for cross contamination. I would avoid the waffles because they are cooked in the same waffle iron. I took a chance on the pancakes and I think I will be safe. I would stay away from ANY sides as they are cooked on the same griddled as the gluten foods. If I get glutened I am confident it is because I did not ask the right questions related to meat prep BEFORE I took a bite of the ham I ordered. So if you decide to roll the dice on this one and hope against hope because you just want to have a "normal" meal out with your family because celiac is HARD, I would recommend sticking with straight up GF plain pancakes. Hope that helps you all! Have a good day!
