Symptomatic Celiac

As a vegan, I have long appreciated the Owlery’s veggie options. When I was diagnosed with celiac, I wasn’t sure if it would still be an option for me. Several menu options can be made gluten free safely, but you should be very very clear with them - say you are celiac and want to avoid shared cook surfaces and frier. Ask what is the safest and get it. They will tell you what they can make in a separate pan safely or sub out. I have not gotten sick by doing this and am usually reactive. They could improve by having a separate frier, cook surface and labeled menu, but it’s still a decent option, especially for vegetarians, vegans or those with dairy allergies (which I also have).

Went here because I saw good reviews and the waiter said they have never offered gluten free buns and cannot make most items gluten free.

GF menu is online. We had the bowl with peanut sauce which was delicious, hummus, onion relish sandwich and Reuben. Food was great, low key atmosphere, excellent service. Felt fine after. All of the food was tasty - recommend the bowl and hummus - they were excellent! Mashed potatoes and gravy also delicious. No designated fryer, but knowledgeable, so still had a great meal.

No, no, no! "Gluten free" menu had fries, which I ordered and which--it turns out--WERE NOT GLUTEN FREE. Took me several weeks to recover. DO NOT TRUST THEIR TAKE ON GLUTEN FREE.

Was super excited to finally eat here. The kitchen would not accommodate me by separating my sandwich on the grill so I ended up with a salad.........

The best gluten free sandwiches in town. The grilled cheese with onion jam is excellent as is the vegetable medley. you can get everything on gluten free bread and choose vegetarian or vegan. The menu is clearly marked Gluten Free. The staff always knows if any of the specials or soups have gluten. The sweet potato fries are great. Always crisp and fresh! They also offer gluten free desserts! Try the Chocolate Peanut Butter Krisp Bars or the XXX Chocolate Cupcakes you are sure to love them! One down fall is it can be a little slow so plan accordingly...
