Stopped here for dinner on our way from Florida to NJ. It was one of the best celiac friendly restaurants ever. The servers were all very knowledgeable and the owner chef came over to talk to us and told us he is gluten intolerant and made sure there was lots of gluten free options that are clearly marked on menu. I had the brisket which was excellent. Hubby had wings which he said were great. Both meals came with 2 sides. Yams beans potatoes and many more all GF! And all beyond delicious. We both agree it was the best meal we ever had!

Lots of menu items marked gluten free. Had the brisket, very fatty. Wife had the wings, over cooked. Cheesy grits and shrimp cocktail were good.

The food is delicious, but be sure to ask questions. The gluten free markings refer to ingredients, not necessarily prep. There is not a dedicated fryer, so fries are not gf, even though menu lists them as gf as part of appetizer, but not as a side dish. Our waiter was not very knowledgeable...manager clarified and corrected his understanding. All meats are smoked and safe. Would definitely recommend, just ask all the right questions if you’re celiac.

Amazing food! This restaurant is truly a gem for gluten free! A wide selection of options, side dishes, and gluten free corn bread. The chef came out and visited our table, and we learned that he is gluten free as well...it made such a difference in our comfort level knowing that the person who cooked and prepared the food truly "gets it". We are only passing through here on our way home, so we won't be able to frequent this restaurant, however it WILL be a stop the next time we DO pass through!

Food was delicious! Make sure to tell the waiter if you have celiac as the fryers are shared so French fries aren't GF even though menu marks as GF

Delicious! Menu was clearly marked with many options. The wings were amazing and the meat truly fell off the bone. Great options for GF side dishes too. The corn bread was not gluten free, but the non-celiac really enjoyed it along with her meal. Great history and jazz atmosphere. Very reasonably priced.

fantastic spot! owner/chef came out to introduce himself, and we learned he doesnt tolerate gluten himself- so when he designed the menu he knew he had to accommodate people like himself! most options are gluten free! i had the rib/brisket combo, was great. no gf desserts yet, but they have a full bar! definitely recommend if you're anywhere in the area!

We found this place while we were staying overnight in Rocky Mount on our way to Myrtle Beach. The menu is quite extensive and has many gluten free options. My Celiac husband had the brisket, pulled pork, scalloped potatoes and baked beans. It was delicious and he did not get sick. The staff seemed knowledgeable about gluten free options and mentioned that the chef has Celiac as well, which increased our confidence very much. The rest of us were extremely happy with our meals too. The only negative aspect of our experience was the service: it was extremely slow. However, it was so nice for my husband to enjoy a safe meal out that we overlooked it in our 5 star rating.

Car broke down on 95 and we fortunately discovered this gem. My daughter has Celiac and and loved the GF wings and had no issues. The entire menu was clearly marked and staff was knowledgable and friendly. Chef personally visited each table while we where in. Highly recommend this place for anyone wanting great food.

Traveling with a child with celiacs is very difficult. We luckily found this place thanks to this app. They were very busy but saw that we had been traveling and were tired and hungry. They accommodated us anyways and quickly at that. The food is fantastic, the portions are great and there were several items for my daughter to choose from! She wasn't stuck eating broccoli again. I will say that despite what someone said before, their fryer is NOT dedicated. They did however inform me of this prior to ordering. The cheesy scalloped potatoes are to die for though and my 6yr old was happy with them!

This place is 10 minutes off 95 and well worth the trip. Great ribs, ginger orange sweet potatoes and Cole slaw. They do not have a dedicated fryer, and the menu correctly indicates that the fries are not gluten free. Great atmosphere and service. Live jazz in the evening.

Back again. Good again.

We went for a late lunch and had a mixed experience. First off, the food was very good. There are a lot of GF options on the menu. My husband, who has Celiac Disease, thought the bbq sauce on his ribs and chicken wings was a little too sweet for his liking but the meat was very tender. The GF au gratin potatoes were deliciously cheesy. The inside of the restaurant is surprisingly cool and unique given the location. This was close to 5 stars except that our server was not very knowledgable about gluten free needs and the service he provided was extremely slow. Several tables near us had different servers and were in and out before we got our meals. Also, no GF beer options.
