Had the breakfast buffet twice while staying at the resort. GF choices were limited: scrambled eggs, bacon, and fruits (mostly canned). Considering the remote location, the food was actually pretty good.

We stayed at the Ranch in Death Valley, really nice hotel. Staff of the buffet-style restaurant, The Ranch 1849, told us to avoid the buffet, due to risk of cross contamination. They suggested, however, to order - take away-style - glutenfree food in the Inn, the other restaurant in the same building. That is what we did and so we all enjoyed dinner in the Ranch, but with food from the Inn for our celiac daughter.

The Inn could provide glutenfree food on demand. However food was very expensive, though not so good. It was safe and oke, but too expensive.

We stayed at the Ranch at the Oasis at Death Valley overnight to do some hiking in the area. This is a very sparsely populated area and there’s very few options for food. I wanted to know if this restaurant offered gluten free options so I called to speak to someone before walking over. The voicemail for the person in charge of the restaurant basically said he doesn’t answer the phone and if you left a message he would return your call when it was most convenient for him. So I walked over. The person at the register said I was welcome to walk around and see if there was anything I could eat. She was kind and friendly but not knowledgeable. She also mentioned I could get “to go” food from the market. There was one salad I could eat in the market and that was about it. The buffet had turkey, wild rice and carrots that I could eat. We chose the buffet even though it was pricey. The turkey tasted ok but was very dry. The rice and the carrots were terrible. I got a salad but I wasn’t sure if the dressing was gluten free so I went light on it and it was ok. I didn’t have a problem but if I were more sensitive I would not have felt comfortable
