Review of The Shack

We have a newly diagnosed Celiac in our family and are traveling from out of town. I found this restaurant on the Find Me GF app and was delighted when I read that the owner’s daughter herself has Celiac and thus, the restaurant is sensitive to the challenges of eating out with Celiac Disease, especially when traveling. I was excited that I’d found a place for my family with GF options as well as options for our non-GF members.

Imagine my surprise when my daughter ordered GF pancakes and was told that the restaurant was out of GF pancake mix! On a Saturday? The day before Mother’s Day? One of the most popular weekends of the year for family dining? At a restaurant owned by a family affected by Celiac?

Needless to say, we were disappointed. The food was good but because they had a hard time accommodating my daughter’s health needs, I would not recommend as a gluten-friendly establishment.
